Looks like he’ll get his game tonightShould play a regular season game IMO rather than getting thrown into a playoff game.
They had a month+ to find a viable Heiskanen stop gap, they settled on Ceci for some reason.Man it really is a shame the one year we lose Miro, is the year we have the deepest forward group ever, and when they can utilize LTIR in their favour lol.
Benn-Johnston-Granlund is an insane 3rd line.

Who could have they got that would truly have made a difference? Let’s be real here, the guys made available weren’t going to be difference makers. They had a month+ to find a viable Heiskanen stop gap, they settled on Ceci for some reason.
We’ll see come Saturday. Too much stock is being put into the last couple of months imo.It doesn't matter how deep the forwards are when none of them seem to dictate or carry play and they are a disjointed mess.

It’s not great but it is not the end all, be all. It’s a group who’s been around playoff success for several years now, and I believe they can flip a switch. They’ve played a lot of hockey lately and playing balls to the wall for all 82 games haven’t gotten them to the promise land.
Carlo bumps everyone down a position as he's an actual 2nd pairing guy.Who could have they got that would truly have made a difference? Let’s be real here, the guys made available weren’t going to be difference makers.
Carlo may have been the best guy moved, and I don’t believe it would have changed much.
Ya he would make our team better for sure, I am not disputing that. What I’m saying is he isn’t going to make or break the series, even if we had him.Carlo bumps everyone down a position as he's an actual 2nd pairing guy.
He's not strong with the puck on his stick by any means either, but he's better than 5 of the guys we've dressed every night with Heiskanen out
I still think karlsson may have been the pick up but not after ceci and it would have meant no rant. The question I asked about how you afford a line next year is different w karlsson. You prob wouldn't have to move marchment but you still need to move dumba. Paying to retain salary w karlsson and paying to dump dumba strips you of futures. We traded a lot to get rant but if they can recoup assets w marchment it might be preferable to what they envision the team in 5 years. If rant had been 30 instead of just turning 28 the outlook would be way different.Who could have they got that would truly have made a difference? Another option would be to ditch the notion the only people capable of playing RD must shoot right handed. This slavish devotion to this concept has broken roster building because it means GMs are fishing in a very shallow pool.Carlo also cost nearly as much as Rantanen did
The Dman prices this deadline were insane
He was not staying. Sounded like he was set on going back to Canada to avoid being taxed everything he owned had he signed long term in the US.A lot of this would have been solved if we had just paid Tanev.
It never was about pay, it would have cost him a lot to go from playing in Canada to playing for a US team. Departure tax would have murdered him.A lot of this would have been solved if we had just paid Tanev.
