Absolutely. He was having a great season. This will hurt the team for sure. Too bad it wasn’t Robo lol
But jokes aside, robo is still probably healing.
I just saw Robertson listed for speed on par w the slowest league forwards. Pat Maroon.

I just listened to some guys suggesting Seguin for the 4 Nations Tourney, guess thats not happening :help:

Who pops into Seguin's spot now? time for a little juggling

This also is now his left leg. His prior injuries were all to his right leg. I don't know if it's better or worse being the other leg.

I guess a good thing is he's found a way to be productive without being fast, so I expect him to come back and be fine.

Brutal news but this could be a blessing in disguise. Nill has A LOT of cap space to play with now, and hopefully Segs will return before playoffs.

Really curious to see who they could potentially go after.

“Could be a blessing in disguise”, just posted the same comment on the main board thread.

And not a lot of strong UFAs. Teams looking to make cap dumps might be open for business but I doubt Nashville is going to do us any favors.

Oh let's just somehow get Stamkos at half salary from the Perds.

Idk if this elite prospects guy has any credibility but here's something fun:

He mentions Johnston, Stankoven, Harley but obviously the Pens wouldn't get any of those guys

If the expectation is that Seguin will be LTIR until the end of season now, and possibly most if not all of next season, but probably be as 100% as he can be for the third, yeah, two years of Malkin might be cool.

Not sure what they'd be giving up for him, probably future scraps.

Man, I don't know. Malkin is 38 and has another year on his contract. He's still getting big minutes.

If you just look at his total numbers, you can think he's having a fine season. 24 points in 27 games looks good, but...Malkin put up 11 points in his first five games of the season. Simple math tells me he's put up 13 points in the 22 games since then. Uh oh.

Malkin would be unreal. Whether that happens, who knows. But yeah, his production has taken a dip due to his mediocre linemates.

Not totally sure how it plays out with LTIR, but we'll have at minimum around 12M and possibly up to 16.5M to play with at the deadline. I know LTIR prevents cap space accrual, but I don't know how the timing of placing Seguin on LTIR will affect that.

Outside of more injuries, we've got the cap space to leave him on standard IR until we make another acquisition.

Nill has to realize this is the year to go all in. Get a couple more middle 6 forwards, a top 4 RHD, pay whatever it costs in picks and non-roster futures.

Malkin would be fun. But not worth what he suggested in stankoven, Johnston or Harley. I would not move Bourque for Malkin. He is 38. You don’t move young roster players for that. Picks and prospects can be moved.
