Not a bad start to the season standings wise but ewww; if not for our top line…? Thankfully we’re only a quarter into the season.

Our PP can’t be any worse than it has been and a number of our top players will eventually start producing but it’s been an ugly start. I know Jamie is getting old but haven’t noticed you in a minute Captain Benn.

If that's inadquate it's a sign the line up doesn't have enough high end skill and perhaps a trade is needed at fwd (on top of the defensive need)

This start may be a blessing in disguise. We learnt last year that dominating the regular season with this playoff format means nothing.

It’s a long season and it’s a humbling start for this team, and management.

That being said, DeSmith’s performance has been concerning and I wouldn’t mind seeing Hellberg. Dude is a big man and he’s seen success in the AHL this season.

Ya, Benn has proven he’s a slow starter.

This entire team offensively is off to a slow start (aside from 27-91-95).

The D-core is the real issue, I agree. Our bottom pair + 7th D is atrocious.

Dumba is being paid $3.75m ea yr to be a bottom pairing or #7. With Suters buyout, thats $4.5m and $5.2m in actual cap hit for a lateral move

IMO it's worse. It wasn't a lateral move it was a straight uo downgrade. Suter, memes aside, was a solid bottom pairing defenseman for us. Dumba is just not a player I want on an NHL team.

One year of overpaid Suter is much better than overpaid non-NHLer Dumba even without the buyout.

Love that he mentions as reason for the Smith/Dumba scratch that he wants solid reliable defense that doesn't beat ittself . Dumbas f***ups without bringing any positive upside in return are just not acceptable.

They just gave him an extension that starts next year. Doubt they move him. Will Borgen on the other hand will probably be moved and would be worth a look.

Good for Hryckowian earning the call-up. He's technically an AHL rookie as well

Id have been tempted to call up Stranges just for fun and put him with Duchene and Marchment, but I doubt he's even a top 3 call-up option

Especially if all they're doing is calling up a forward to be the nightly healthy scratch.

We'll see who plays Smith or Dumba with Petro back in the AHL . Both looked like shit. Smith according to Castillo even worse than Dumba albeit i personally didn't see it like that.
