Tamper with McDavid and promise him $25 million?Yeah this is actually a negative for us. Our competitive advantage was flexibility, now every team has it.

The landscape for Gibson might have changed. Earlier this week I was listening to the NHL guys on Sirius and they were basically saying that the Ducks could get a ton for Gibson from a team that needs a goalie (Carolina seemed to be the target they were talking about). IMO the Ducks don't need to (and don't want to) retain on Gibson to get a good deal IF IF IF they even want to trade him now. The cap going up also means that other teams will be more easily able to fit the final two years of Gibson's contract into their budget. Another reason that retention most likely isn't on the table.Could PV be more tempted to retain on Gibson now?
There's very little chance he would ever come here, even at 15+ m.Honestly, get Rantanen. EVen if it costs 15+. The cap is going up so quickly it wont matter.
Exactly. Until the other teams all step on their johnson and get in cap hell again we no longer have an advantage.Yeah this is actually a negative for us. Our competitive advantage was flexibility, now every team has it.
It appears EP (for now) is the winner in the power struggle. Will be fascinated to see what the return is
Is that really true though? I've not heard that about him until the VAN dust up.Hilarious that the Rangers' plan to improve the season/morale is to trade away a guy who was beloved in the locker room (Trouba) and acquire a guy who causes problems everywhere he goes
I haven't really followed his career, and I'm sure it's being overblown on here, but where there's this much smoke I have to think there are at least some embersIs that really true though? I've not heard that about him until the VAN dust up.

I agree with you. With the uncertainty of the progress of our youths and their offensive development along with the cap going up, do we want to move on from Gibson? Right now, we're a better team because of our duo of Dostal and Gibson. We currently don't have any goalies that can step up anytime soon in our system for that backup role. I don't know about the rest of the league's backup situation and who could be available, but is there a backup goalie out there as comparable to Gibby? If not, then would it be prudent to keep Gibby?

Well, then I'd say it's 50/50 where the problem is. Maybe somebody isn't earning their new contrast and somebody is calling him out on it?I haven't really followed his career, and I'm sure it's being overblown on here, but where there's this much smoke I have to think there are at least some embers
It’s funny because I’m sure the takeaway has been that he is available for trade when in my opinion the takeaway really should have been that there’s an executive out there that thinks zegras could be a top line wing on a contender when surrounded by the right talentThis Zegras trade chatter is so infuriating lol.. Friedman says that an exec told him he wants to see Z on the Avs, and now people are saying Z will be traded there
Sorry if im blind. Where y’all seein this? This Zegras trade chatter is so infuriating lol.. Friedman says that an exec told him he wants to see Z on the Avs, and now people are saying Z will be traded there
