  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
After a 3 in 3 against Athens, the Dashers are now at 33 losses in a row with no end in sight. four games coming up, two against each division leader. 19 more games left in this season for them.
What's the over/under on Dashers HC surviving the rest of the season? Otherwise PKB LLC may poach them for extra HC Venom skaters.

Points > Wins > Win % > Head to Head (Old) > Goal Differential
x - Clinched playoff spot

Black Bears qualified for the playoffs before anyone else, not hard to do when you have just 4 losses in 42 games played with a 107 points total before the first spring flowers are in bloom. 🌷 Meanwhile the Thunderbirds have a 12-point lead in the Continental, followed by a surprising #2 Athens Rock Lobsters in their inaugural season. Not bad for a team who had to postpone their home opener due to arena code violations ... not a surprise condition for a league who will play anywhere/anytime/any💩hole ...

And back to the Empire Division, Danville HC is still waiting for their Lucky #7 point of the season burdened by a 1-35-3-0-0 record. For whom that bell tolls ... :baghead:

A couple of recent (though sadly typical) tales from The Fed, courtesy of Minor Pro Hero & Christian Gardecki ...
Mississippi seems to be a case of short-sighted owners thinking that hockey in the south alone is worth the appeal, when in reality it's a harder sell made worse by the team consistently sucking.

As for Danville, well... It's Barry Soskin. Do you need anything else?

Binghamton should really be in a better league. ECHL, maybe?

Owners of FPHL teams bought in for one of two reasons: (1) the market would not support a higher calibre league; or (2) the operating costs for a Fed franchise were all they were willing to invest. Take yer pick for Binghamton, and for Winston-Salem (who some naive fans have argued deserve to have a more prestigious league membership).

I dunno, AHL certainly not but the Bing metro is twice the size of the Wheeling metro. I think ECHL would be a good fit, but yeah lack of ownership makes that tough.

Wheeling has been a convenient touchpoint for hockey fans who are arguing for an expansion team in their hometown or a "promotion" for their existing team. But the Nailers' ownership was previously a regional economic development group, who then sold to a couple of brothers who are financing the team with completely private funds. So the apples-to-oranges comparisons are usually rotten excuses ...

It's actually the reverse. The brothers sold to the regional economic group, which has owned the team for over 10 years, maybe closer to 15 at this point.

EDITED TO ADD - found a link. March 2012 is when the regional group bought the team. https://www.wvnews.com/statejournal...cle_4eab23be-89c1-5282-895a-9b8149103d56.html
