That's too bad. I like seeing out of conference play. Lucky being a UNB fan. They usually only play one AUS opponent during exhibition season.

Where is Simon Fraser getting all this money for travel?

StFU is weird. Their big thing was football, and that program folded because their conference folded. They played a season against Texas teams, who chose not to renew that deal, and that was that. In varsity men's team sports they just have soccer and basketball now. They've always been a below-average CW school. Their athletics department tries to emulate the NCAA.

If they want to operate an independent NCAA Div 2 team, they have to draw enough fans to entice teams to travel there. They must have some big money sponsors.

SFU is cringe. They give off the biggest pick-me vibes while being unable to operate their athletics program at anything close to a consistently competent level. So it stands to reason that they would have wealthy egomaniacs throwing money at what is essentially an egomaniac program.
