I understand it is two separate awards, I was just complaining about how the best player doesn't normally always win. Same case with Mount, nobody here honestly thinks or believes he is a POTY candidate, even if he won it in the CL. Fluke stuff happens all the time.
He was absolutely Chelsea’s POTY that season, which is the award that he won. To prove it wasn’t a fluke, he was Chelsea’s POTY the next season too!

In the UCL, he was our second best player (behind Kanté). Has any player who ever laced up boots for Arsenal’s mens team been the second best player in a triumphant UCL campaign? No? I did not think so.

To say Mount was an Everton level player is dumb as bricks, but that should be expected at this point I suppose.

Mount was overrated by Chelsea and he is a disaster with Manchester United. Chelsea got a nice bag for him, got a way better player to replace him with Palmer so they should be happy and move on. No need to overly praise him anymore.

I purchased a hoodie from the Spurs shop the Tuesday before Thanksgiving during their sale, it was the 1st time I've ordered from the shop. They just sent an email asking if I liked it for a public review. I gave it a 1-star review as I haven't received it yet.

Who was also just objectively good for a few seasons.

Yeah it’s hard to point exactly at what went wrong with these guys. You can’t say injuries destroyed them. The talent was obviously there at some point but the head wasn’t able to keep things up for more than a couple of seasons?

Whether or not Mount was overrated his purchase was still a stupid one from united. He filled no glaring hole and plenty of people said it didn’t make sense, they were proven to be right on the nose. Also considering how Chelsea loves spending, one can’t help but think they knew he was damaged goods and didn’t want to over pay him on wages. Some critical thinking from united’s fo, who I can only assume make millions to do their job were bent over on this one. It’s a fireable offence.

Yeah bringing Mount in under ETH made no sense based on the formation he was playing. Ironically though ETH’s replacement had a system that was tailor made to utilize Mount. I’m not going to say Mount was going to get back to his Chelsea form under Amorim, but there were a lot of flashes of him rounding back into an effective level. Unfortunately he’s just getting into Shaw territory with the injuries.

Alli seemed to battle some severe depression and sleeping pill addiction.

He had some problems yes. But to just lose your abilities seems odd anyway. I wasn’t elite by any means but i had alcoholproblem for years and stopped playing hockey. When i got my shit together and started playing again i hadn’t lost my abilities. Just picked up where i left off.

That’s very much something I’m on board with. It didn’t make sense.

His fit with Liverpool was much more obvious - but they dodged a bullet.

The difference in elite players is by slimmer margins than you being an ok beer league player.

He didn’t fit LFC either. Said at the time he didn’t make sense and would rather roll with Harvey Elliott, and needless to say my mind has not been changed

Yes. That's exactly the same as coming back and trying to compete with the top .0001% of talent in the world.

Man City’ posted this on their X account today

They are missing a proper winger who can make shit happen
They aren’t though.

Their problem is they are overcooked from last season and they can’t run any more. They aren’t fit.

They look like LFC during the season that almost killed Klopp, because Klopp did the same thing chasing four trophies the prior season

Mahrez is the second best RW in PL history. But he is not near the top of the list of reasons why City are sputtering right now. They didn’t have him last year either
