Pretty obvious to anyone who has watched him semi-regularly this year, and no surprise to see McIlvane praise him given how he has used Gaucher this year. Pretty clear from early on that he massively trusts him to play seriously heavy minutes against team's top players week in week out."Nathan has an impact on every game," McIlvane shared. "Even if he’s got a goal or two more at this point last year, he’s making a much more positive impact on a game-by-game basis for our hockey team."
McIlvane went on to praise Gaucher's transformation into a more complete player, particularly his improvements in defensive play. "He’s become an elite defensive player, and he’s one of the most physical guys night in and night out. It’s a giant step for the way that he’s going to play at the next level."

Maybe I'm jinxing myself saying this but might be really nice to be able to roll out him and LaCombe in high-pressure situationsPretty obvious to anyone who has watched him semi-regularly this year, and no surprise to see McIlvane praise him given how he has used Gaucher this year. I said it in the Gulls thread, but it's a shame about the injury as I think it means he starts next year in San Diego, but I suspect he'll be up with the Ducks by December.
Not sure if it's been posted but MoDo got relegated from the SHL in a playoff with HV71 (after being up 2 games to 0). Pettersson had been recalled previously but was restricted to 20 minutes across the 5 games (including playing no minutes in game 2) with no points.
I'm unfamiliar with contracts in Sweden (if teams retain rights on youth players), but his contract is now up with MoDo.
IMO his best option in the short term would be to play junior hockey in NA next season. Not sure which junior team (if any) holds his rights. I don't think he's physically strong enough to play in the AHL next year. Not sure if it's been posted but MoDo got relegated from the SHL in a playoff with HV71 (after being up 2 games to 0). I would guess he must have, considering he has played 60 pro games.Perhaps if Pettersson's grades are solid then the college route could be an option? Don't think he signed a pro contract in Sweden?
It seems the most logical. I wish they would address this gap for players like Sennecke.
Didn't Wright get his exception because of Covid?I believe it is possible to petition to have a guy go to the AHL. Just doesn't seem to be an oft used option (Shane Wright?).
I’m pretty sure the main reason was that he was granted exceptional status, so he spent an extra year in the league compared to his peers.Didn't Wright get his exception because of Covid?

The Otters (who are still without Terrance and Schaefer) have outscored Saginaw (who have Misa, Parekh, and Chernyshov) 17-10 in 2 games.

You think Misa drops out of the top 4 now ?Paper Spirits. The Otters have clamped down on Misa (2g + 1a and a -7 rating) in the playoffs. It'll embarrassing for Misa's draft stock.
3 points in 2 playoff games isn't going to do jack shit to his draft stock.Paper Spirits. The Otters have clamped down on Misa (2g + 1a and a -7 rating) in the playoffs. It'll embarrassing for Misa's draft stock.

I don’t think it’s really going to do anything to his draft stock.
