Its funny how when Sennecke goes on a scoring streak his critics vanish lol but will return if he goes scoreless in next game to tell us how its concerning he might not make the WJC team or that he's not scoring 5 points per game.

For all we know Demidov would never want to play for Anaheim or Columbus and he went to a super big (Montreal)market team like Michkov did (Philly). Passing on Lindstrom looks like it was the right choice now for sure.
We are not critics, we are concerned that our nr 3OA pick is not living up to it. We want him and this team do do good. When he is doing whats expected of him what are we suppose to post about? Weird take.

You have absolutely no idea if Demidov would play here or not. What are you basing that on? Is he too good for this team or is it because he's Russian. Alot of baseless assumptions.

I want to be excited about Sennecke but I don't trust this organization in developing offensive talent, that being said great players overcome whatever environment they're in

There’s obviously some institutional skepticism that Sennecke rated a 3rd overall pick, the most obvious being that the consensus had him somewhere in the 10-20 range, and this is just the most recent indicator.

A lot of scouts aren’t sold on him as an elite player. You kind of have to accept this sort of thing when you reach for a player, especially in the top 3.

For sure. Again, not dunking on the guy. I found it interesting, aswell as a base for worrying about him.
Yakemchuk, Parekh and Iginla should be there aswell.

Sennecke kind of feels like the Canadian zegras, except the US doesn't have as deep a pool to pick from. Remember, zegras barely played in the WJC the year he was drafted. If he was Canadian, he likely would have stayed home as well.

No Sennecke, Misa, Parekh, Yakemchuk, or Iginla, laughable

Iginla not being there is far more shocking than Sennecke to me - simply because of his last name
The most surprising was Misa for me….leading the OHL in scoring and not even an invite?

Historically when they’ve made questionable decisions like this it bites them in the rear.

He has 19 goals in 23 games coming off of a foot injury. If you’re worrying about him you’re actively looking for things to worry about.
Exactly this.

Here's his stats for last year, this year so far, and his projection (just current pace extended for the rest of the season). Columns are Games Played, Goas, Assists, Total Points, Penalty Minutes, +/-
1733187882265.png

He's on pace for a 96% increase in goals, 14% percent increase in assists, for an overall 47% increase in total points. He's also on pace to reduce his penalty minutes by 16.5%. What more could you want from the kid?

He was drafted off potential. The worry was that the second half of last year was fluke and not progress. The start of this season clearly shows last year wasn't just a hot streak. I think if teams knew he would put up these numbers the first 3rd of the season, he wouldn't have been a "reach" at three.

It absolutely sucks, but yeah, screw it. He really does look like the real deal (he creates much more than what we see from highlights) so just keep on working and things will come.

Your national junior team is staying in my small town for the WJC and playing a couple pre tournament games here. Seemed like a bit of a random choice but we are quite close to the host arena (Sens home rink).
