Ian Moore finished with an assist, burnevik a goal.

Burnevik is such an intriguing prospect, his shot is probably the best among all our prospects that aren't at the NHL level. If he can sort out the skating....

Tied for 13th in the NCAA for goals isn't too bad for your rookie season.

Notes please!
They actually were talking about the just the top 4 picks from last year. Nothing super surprising but some notes from what I remember:
Sennecke was someone they were looking closely at the year before also. They want him to take more shots because he has a great shot even though he is a pass first guy.

Solberg sold them at the world championship.

Pettersson reminds him of wild Bill. He isn’t elite at anything but good at everything. He is super responsible but when they moved him to the wing they saw his offense move creativity come though. He expects his production in the SHL to be down because his physical strength is holding him back. Expects his size won’t hold him back once he is at physical maturity at 23. He will be really strong.

Masse also needs to shoot more. He and Sennecke were the first guys they put with their shooting coach at development camp. Could have scored 40 last year if he shot more. He started the year with 6 goals in 5 games so they were really happy with it before he got hurt. Made a comment about how Masse’s draft year was hard for him because of the expectations after being the CHL rookie of the year.

Bummer they didn’t talk about the other 3rd rounders.

Is the Sennecke pick looking better or even worse than on draft day? What is the people who watch him saying?
There was his highlights going around, including plays that did not end up on the scoring sheet. Dude looked ridiculously good. But I have not watched games

Pettersson is a long game if they're picturing him at age 23. That makes a lot more sense after seeing Pettersson signing a 2-year contract with Modo in Sweden until the 2026-27 season. According to capwages, Pettersson's "must sign by" date is Jun1, 2028. Now that's what I call overripening.

It's kinda odd that the org is trying to change the games of Sennecke and Massé. It's great that they want our prospects to score more, but I'm a bit concerned about how they're making them more one-sided forwards.

His first 2-3 games coming back were essentially a wash because he was recovering from an injury, and since then he's had 29 points in 17 games. So production wise, the pick looks good.

Sennecke pick is looking very good. As Gliff mentions below Sennecke is pass first guy. He is not one of those pure shooter type Wingers that depends on a playmaking center.
I could see him becoming one of those wingers who scores 40 goals and 50 assists while being the guy on the Ducks who drives to the net like Perry but with more playmaker in him.
Lindstrom injury/surgery also makes it look better.

I think its interesting how both Anaheim and Columbus pass on Michkov and Demidov in back to back drafts while both of them are picked by Big traditional hockey Markets such as Philly and Montreal. Makes me wonder if Demidov was more willing to sign/play for a bigger market longterm.

Not amazing numbers in that league for a D+1 though. Bunch of players the same age or younger with moore points. I don't know how good his team is either.

How does it look 'even worse'? Take out the first 3 games of the season where he wasn't really in game shape coming off a decent ankle injury he has 30 points in 18 games (1.66 ppg) and is comfortably the leading goal scorer on the team. 1.66ppg is good for 5th in the OHL among skaters with 15+ games played.

He's on pace for just under a 50 goal season right now after scoring 27 goals last season, along with 25 or so more points.

He's taken a pretty decent step forward already this season.

Only two younger players with a better points per game and they are projected top picks (Misa and Martone) who are third year OHLers like Sennecke

Edit - actually Martone is the same birth year just draft eligible a year later due to Sept 15 cutoff. Misa is the only 07 born outproducing Sennecke but he's been in the league just as long due to exceptional status.

You can see where his game can translate though. Also helped that in our preseason game he looked completely fine for a very undersized 18 year old. It’s fair to think he’s risky, but his potential is quite literally sky high, just have to hope he can reach it. That assist @Static just posted shows the insane skill he possesses.
