I'm certain we won't get a response either way, but if the Chiclets rumors are false or outdated then I wish Pat would at least acknowledge and shoot them down.

I'm also pretty certain we won't get Montgomery, which is a shame because I think he could be a great fit. His experience as a successful college coach seems especially apt considering how many of our most important players are college-aged or near it.
0 chance verbeek addresses random talk radio rumor via the head coach.

I agree it's the a very un-Ducks thing to fire Cronin at this time. But also it could very easily be the best thing to ever happen to this franchise.
I want Cronin fired as much as anyone here. But I’m just not sure that some radio show comments will do that ( unless they happened to break a very serious rumor ) Cronin being strict and not a players coach isn’t breaking news

I think it’s un-every team, really. There’s just no reason to think he’s in trouble, especially given the circumstances of his hiring. We have to hope that the coaches and the players start to mesh. Maybe these last 3 games are the start of something, fingers crossed.

God, this is such a slam dunk potential hire. But, because we have a ‘rookie’ GM who would rather stand by his pride than actually improving the squad we will miss out.

Sure - it’s nice to have a little winning streak going, but three games won’t change the nearly past 3-6 weeks of piss poor hockey

If Verbeek were willing to hire a new coach, I'd have a players meeting with no coaching staff so they could give their opinions. Especially the vets who have played for a few coaches and in successful environments.

You can't court a new coach at this time and then decide not to do it. If verbeek wanted to go down that route, he would have to go in 100% and know that Montgomery was not only interested, but also in 100%.

It's why stuff like this almost never happens, it's way too complicated.

I appreciate the little winning streak or the 4 wins in 5 games but the Ducks top productive player is on pace for like 54-55 points. Unacceptable!
Verbeek/Cronin are obviously focusing on defense. I don’t think they give a damn about how many points guys produce. I doubt Cronin is getting axed because I think he’s coaching the way Verbeek wants him to.

Ducks are actually 14th in the league in GA/G. Not too bad. If they can get some more offense. Think it could be a decent season.

We still need some guys to get going , some of the kids and some of the vets.

I feel while it’s definitely improved lately it would be a lot worse if it wasn’t for Dosty going superhuman at the start of the year.

Just fire him already, if Montgomery Ward says no then hire Boudreau.
Boudreau would work well too, he's a good players coach but not so overly positive of a players coach like Eakins that he lets them off easy for getting blown out in games.

Eakins was way too positive even when they were getting destroyed and punched in the face getting black eyed like what happened to Terry that one season. When he was hired in 2012 he worked really well with the young D such as Lindholm, Fowler, Vatanen, Manson etc and the systems they played worked.

We also were foolishly snake bitten for a while. Seems to be figuring itself out and I could definitely see guys hit 65-70. Especially if Zegras and Carlsson stay together. If they are going to be on a line then they should also be on the same PP unit though.

This is why I’d like to keep Gibson around to split the work load , so no one is burnt out by Christmas.

Leo should have more points so should Z. These are not players who are not getting chances. I lost count how many times Leo hit the pipes yet he is still tied for team lead in goals.

Wishcasting that Verbeek wants to establish a defensive mindset first, then take the shackles off of the skill guys. Not confident in that wish. Also think the GA/G has been largely driven by excellent goaltending.

Of course . This is why we need the offense to continue producing like it has in the last few games.

Great Goaltending can only bail you out for so long. Need to produce when the goalie has an off night.

I’m a bit encouraged, not by the wins but by the different approach. More aggressive pressuring the puck in the D zone. More puck support on the forecheck and D more involved on offense.

D getting into the offense is one of the main reasons we are on a 3 game winning streak.
