Roster Notes:
There have been no roster moves officially made this morning. However, Ottawa put forward Cole Reinhardt on waivers yesterday, meaning if he clears and is not claimed by another team before 2:00 p.m., he would be eligible to play tonight. It will be Reinhardt’s first appearance with Belleville since December 14 against Rochester if he dresses. Even though he’s only played 14 games for Belleville this season, the 24-year-old Albertan has collected 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) and sits sixth on Belleville’s points list this season. Who to Watch:
Senators forward Angus Crookshank has found his offensive touch of late, carrying a five-game point streak (two goals, six assists) into tonight’s contest. The fifth-year pro leads Belleville in goals, with 15, and is tied for second in American Hockey League power play goals, with eight. Rookie forward Stephen Halliday is on a three-game point streak (two goals, two assists). At the same time, defenceman and Belleville’s All-Star Jeremy Davies collected his 150th career AHL point last Saturday with an assist.
Two Hartford players are bringing three-game point streaks into tonight’s game, including Anton Blidh (two goals, one assist) and Brennan Othmann (three goals). Othmann is a former teammate of Belleville goaltender Michael Simpson, as the pair won an Ontario Hockey League Championship together with the Peterborough Petes a couple of seasons ago. Veteran forward Alex Belzile is tied for third overall in AHL scoring, with 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) in 38 games so far this season.
