Yeah, he did - he was top 5 in GSAx for much of the season before a recent decline.Wait a second, I'm kinda surprised Dostal is looking to be the consensus pick.
His stats don't seem remarkable and normally I wouldn't hold that against him considering his team, but Gibson is 8th in sv% and 17th in goals saved above expected. Granted he played 21 less games, but did Dostal even have a 29 game or comparable stretch as good as that?
Also, Lacombe is 9th in goals, 18th in points (3rd on team) and 17th in EVP among dmen leaguewide. He seems to be better relative to his peers than Dostal is

@WhatTheDuck You didn't even vote?
Who was their MVP this season?
Let me know if another player deserves to be added
I just assumed he was having a down year. Good to see he's starting to return to formHe doesn't need to be added because he won't get votes, but Zegras has been more instrumental to the team's success than roughly half the names here. He's been performing like a point per game player since returning from injury and the team is notably more dangerous with him in the lineup.
Dostal has burned out lately. He and Gibson have to fend off chances with the worst defense in the league in front of them. It's his first year playing a real starter's workload so he's likely exhausted. His run in the first half of the season is the biggest reason the Ducks saw any improvement in the standings this year. Gibson deserves some credit too but the way the NHL defines most valuable player, it has to be Dostal.Wait a second, I'm kinda surprised Dostal is looking to be the consensus pick.

He's starting to figure it out but he's more of a guy that chips offense in and is one of the more likely guys to create dangerous chances, but I really wouldn't call him the lifenlood of the team. No one has really emerged as that guy yet but you have fair arguments for Lacombe overall, the Carlsson-Gauthier pair lately, Zegras, while still having areas in need of improvement is a guy who seems to make the team as a whole play better when he's in vs when he's out. Mac is shaping up to be a 2c with low end 1C contribution. Which is still great but if I had to rank players based on overall "value" to the team throughout the season I wouldn't have him all that high. It'd probably look something likeI went with McTavish. Would defer to their own fans but he to me he seems like the lifeblood of the team as well as being an outstanding player.
