There were rumours that Cayden Lindstrom was leaving Medicine Hat for Michigan but it turns out he’s going to MSU instead it looks like. Would have been fun to see him and Hage together.

I know the CHL is getting f***ed here, but going to the NCAA in the 19 year old seasons of top prospects is such a better development path.
Yes, totally agree. And for hage it will be great too, he will be centering two high end offensive players and expected to lead.

The CHL is benefiting overall as they will be keeping all of the top prospects who were playing in lesser junior leagues in order to protect their NCAA eligibility. Getting the 17 and 18 year old seasons on elite players such as the Makar's, Celebrini's, Fantillis's and lesser stars like Wood, Boisvert, Hage etc will be a bigger boon than losing the odd mega star in their D+1 season (some of whom were turning pro anyways due to not having NCAA eligibility)
This is the reason that the CHL fully endorsed the new rules as the old rules were implemented by the NCAA to keep kids out of the CHL and create American feeders for the NCAA. It is an obvious win for the CHL as it means more overall exposure to elite Canadian talent and that is good for business.

McKenna has nothing to prove at WHL level anymore. he needs to play against older, bigger, better opponents.

Michigan has some NIL money to spend next year, wouldn't be surprised if they land a McKenna or Martone.
This time next year Hage might be able to sign and help a potential playoff push.
