I think having Demidov, it's the best thing for Hage to don't have pressure.

He have better season in NCAA than players drafted ahead of him, Eiserman, Boisvert, Connelly etc...

I'm pretty confident, in few years, in a re-draft, he should easily go top 10-12. Maybe more if he reach his full potential.

With out Demidov, it could have been a failed rebuild. We would have come out of the rebuild with out a game breaking talent.

A lot of people do too much drugs and alcohol. Some come out fine and some have their lives ruined by it, and the damage builds up over time. It can also reduce one's ability to recover from subsequent setbacks.

Do you recall that following Galchenyuk's 30-goal season, he had 23 points in 25 games the following year, and then he tore the meniscus in his left knee? He actually came back for five games that year and reinjured his knee.

After that he was never good.

...like I already clearly stated, Chucky is to blame for his own shyte (in fact, that's EXACTLY what I posted), but giving Therrien a pass is what's complete bullshyte...Therrien did EVERYTHING he could to play DAVVEEEEYYYY on our Top line and keep Chucky off of it until he didn't have ANY excuse left anymore and what happened when he was FINALLY put on the Top Line??...Chucky scored 30...and what happened the very next season when Chucky went through a small rough patch (before he got hurt, btw)??...Therrien went RIGHT back to DAVVEEEYYYY and Chucky's Top Line time was OVER...defending that PoS is what's bullshyte here, amigo...

No, Hughes is patient with the prospects and he’ll want Hage back in the NCAA another year. As good as he’s been, he needs another year.

Well I think it's huge right from the jockeying for position to the pick being available to the heart wrenching story behind the player. We probably have two of the top steals of that draft.

Mesar outside of some WJC success has not looked like a first round pick.

Mesar looks nothing like Owen Beck in terms of NHL readiness never mid the players around him who we passed up on. I'm not sure how long it may take him to finally take that next step in Pro hockey but his trajectory is definitely on a different path. Kind of Sean Farrell(ish) at this point. Note Farrell is just now picking it up.

Pacioretty went straight to the AHL from his draft year and returned there despite a few call-ups with Montreal. We're talking about one of the best goal-scorers in the NHL during his years passed in Montreal. It wouldn't hurt a strong NCAA player to play at a slightly higher level in the AHL before moving up to the NHL.

Every player has a different path to the NHL, if they are ever to make it there. trying to make a cookie cutter approach to development will ruin some potential careers, IMO.

Still, I don't think there will be anything wrong with seeing Hage start in Montreal after two years in the NCAA, let's say, only to be sent to the AHL after 20 games or so in order to work on anything that might need polishing from what we'd seen of him in those 20 games at the NHL level.
