I thought maybe it could, and should work between Mikko and Mitts, but both seem to need to slow the game down while everyone else runs around like water bugs.
Drouin plays the game at a whole different pace than Mikko. So it seems to work.

If Colton were capable of being a true top six forward we could get and maintian health (HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA!) this is not a bad lineup. If we could snag a center that would push Parssinen to the 4th line...holy crap. Need an LD though, I'm fine with CDH and Middleton as depth, but I'd rather have a better stay at home D starting next to Malinksi.

At one point, I thought I heard Bednar or Landy being quoted as saying they had some dates lined out where Gabe couldn't do certain things before those dates arrived. I wonder what January 1, 2025 allowed him to go up to? Was freaking great to see clips of him back on the ice. But unfortunately if he's ready to come back, somebody has to go in IR for the rest of the regular season or we need to make a trade. It's going to be interesting to watch CMac negotiate Landy's return to the active roster. I can't help but think Gabe is absolutely CHOMPING at the bits to get this going.

They'll just play LTIR gymnastics if Landy is actually ready before the playoffs.

If the NHL would just allow a team to play a single game above the cap, I'm sure the hockey gods would sort things out before 60 minutes were done.

Who's even available? Avs don't tend to shy away from players with term, but I assume they want to keep Wedgy as the #2, so we need a decent #3? Just going off GSAE, maybe Marcus Hogberg from the Islanders might be worth a look? Signed to the minimum, and already 30. Should be cheap.
Wonder how much its going to cost to keep Drouin this time around. He's such a damn good fit with this team and with Mack...
On the one hand he's like PPG+ since his health scratch here last year, and works his ass off every shift now, completed different player to where he was when he started with us. On the other hand, just 3 games in the playoffs last year and just 7 games so far this year, with injuries being an issue his entire career essentially.
He clearly took a discount last year to stay with the Avs, so its obvious he wants to be here and will likely take less money again to stay, but just how much less and what's fair.

Before getting to the plus, one for one means the Canucks get out of the bad years of his contract while addressing a locker room rift, while the Avs can get him for his good years. Mittelstadt is struggling this year but it’s kind of a lost year anyway for Vancouver with all of its injuries.
Miller has a NMC, so it can be assumed this would limit the return and Miller would want a chance at winning.

Jonathan Drouin is awesome player and is 100% sure going to be signing a contract which will be a lot cheaper than it should be.
He loves it here, he is an awesome player and the duo of him n Mack is great. Trade RosCo if needed, trade Wood if needed, Drouin needs to stay. Two-way, ppg level talent beast. And won't be paid even close to what he deserves.

My guess is Drouin gets a 2-year deal. Some stability while a last chance at a 3-5 year deal on the other end.

f*** JT Miller. That douche has douched up every lockerroom he has been in. Everyone was saying how much the room hates George and it was causing issues, and now people want to bring in Miller? I don't care if he's good at hockey, without landys leadership the last thing we need is some numpty coming in and causing rifts. The lockerroom seems good right now. Lots of good personalities, don't f*** up the soup by adding a dog shit to the mix.

It depends on what the reason is. If he’s just trying to be a drill sargent by not coddling babies, then he might fit in ok. If he’s just likes creating drama for the sake of creating drama, it’s probably a different story.
But the guy is a 90 pt machine. When Kadri scored 90 points, look at the outcome.

I just can't see CMac going for a player like Miller when he just got rid of Georgiev. The problem with that type of guy is when things are going well everything is fine in the locker room. However you go through a bad stretch of games and their true colors come out and it snowballs from there.
