On Petey/JT - Both are better than mitts, so in a sense I’d take them. Once you consider contracts and what a trade would look like it gets a lot more difficult and less enticing.

Oh, Mikko Rantanen replacement. (Kidding)

I'd want him playing his natural position between Lehky and Mikko.

Drouin - MacK - Nuke
Lehky - Barzal - Rantanen

Lol.
I've wanted him for a while simply because I think his speed and offensive creativity could really blossom here. I do think he's an extremely flawed player who seemingly has refused to actually address any of his weaknesses.

Habs are pushing for a playoff spot now. I think they'll wait until closer to the TDL to see what their position in the standings is and then act accordingly.

Savard, Dvorak, and Evans(less likely) would be for sale if they choose to sell.

Horvat is probably the ideal 2C in terms of fit. We need a 2C who has plus shooting talent, rather than playmakers with weak shot. Nuke and Lehky can score goals but they dont greatly benefit from playmaking but rather just chaos around the net. Mikko is our only true goal scorer on the wing.

If he didn't have that insane contract I'd love Horvat on this team (even though I still think the hit he laid on Byram was dirty). Possesses speed, capable of playing a rough-and-tumble game, has a good shot, and best of all I think he's pretty good at winning faceoffs. Plus he's shown in the past that playoff hockey suits him well. His underlyings are not great last time I checked but then again Naz's underlyings weren't either.

Ross Colton says hello.

Only somewhat kidding. I'd be somewhat interested in finding out what RosCo the top six winger looks like for a full season. Where does his goal scoring taper off at He was definitely on a heater earlier, but just how big of a heater was it? I think he'd produce much more from the wing but man our center depth takes a hit without him in it, even though he isn't all that great of a 3rd line center.

He got the empty netter last game, but things have already gotten ugly for Colton:

GPGAPSS%
1st Half118194020.0%
2nd Half103031520.0%

He's still living off his crazy shooting %, but like Mittelstadt is suddenly allergic to putting pucks on net. I thought last game (back at C) was his best in a few weeks, personally.

I definitely would not call a guy who has only passed 20 goals once a "true goal scorer". I definitely would like to see more of him on the wing and especially on the power play but ultimately I don't think he's more than a depth utility guy. And I'm guessing due to cap issues he'll be gone next year at the least.

What about shot attempts? It seems like the whole team is missing the net a lot tho.

Oh yeah, they are. Someone told me on social media--I'll have to look it up--their high danger shooting percentage in particular is laughable this year. Pretty remarkable they've remained productive despite the fact that they've turned into hockey's equivalent of the Vogons.

I'm drawing a blank. All I've got is the alien race that sucks at poetry and blows up the Earth in Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Seriously, MacK has lost all confidence in his shot, and everyone else is just wipping it high and wide.

A quick glance shows me they are below average in HDSH% this year, but that has been true since 2021-2022.
