Say what you will about Kakko or his chances of developing into anything resembling his draft position, but that's an insanely cheap price to pay. Seattle sends out a mediocre D who's going UFA and makes more than Kakko. The 3rd in the deal might be the most valuable asset they're giving up.

Why? Because of where he was drafted?

He has 4 goals in 30 games this year. He’s surpassed 13 goals in a season once in his 6 year career.

Kakko is an average 3rd line player.

There’s no potential here. He cannot create any offense on the ice.

Seattle is probably the worst landing place for Kakko with their winger depth.

Which works out for us, we can pick him up for cheap in the offseason.

Weekes is such a shill for the Rangers. It’s actually pathetic.

Yeah no one believes that .

Is there a reason why Cam York hasn't been signed for his new contract yet? He's an RFA this summer and on a bad Philly team is carrying an xGF% 58.17 in 353 ES minutes. I don't really follow Philly regularly but do check in on them as I'm a fan of Torts. Is there something bad with the player than I've missed in my limited viewings? He's always seemed solid. Not spectacular but like someone I would love to have in the bottom 4 of a d-unit as he can play both sides.

I've been a bit curious about York too.
