Mikko can't cover up holes on this team the way Swayman would be able to.
I agree with that. Just the value of goalies isn’t super high in a move like that.

IMO there is merit to the idea of having an elite goalie, let MacK do whatever he wants and then highly structured defensive oriented elsewhere. The Torts in Columbus stuff. Let Bread be Bread. Have Bob bail out. The rest of the team checks as hard as they can. That won’t happen under this management though… they clearly don’t go after players like that. Especially high end goalies. They want to get by on the minimum there.

Swayman cant cover up anyt
Boston needs an elite goalie because they don't have enough depth anymore. They aren't built to win without great goaltending.

We've seen things play out in the media before like this. We're heading down the path of ~68-70m with heavy signing bonuses.

I do think Swayman would cover up a lot of the issues here, and I'd welcome him with open arms. That is just a lot to give up.

I dont think Swayman has proven to be elite and Bruins have proven they needed elite goaltending. Ulmark isnt elite, has won a vezina over swayman and got traded for a backup that people thinks cant be good for the 20 games that Swayman would sit (if hes stupid).

I was going to ask if Biz is just doing a bit or he's getting it from somewhere and it seems it's clearly got either Swayman or the agent feeding him.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Swayman accept $8m AAV from another team, but at this point his camp simply feel disrespected by the Bruins and aren’t going to budge an inch.

Arbitration, reluctance to offer long term initially, today Cam openly saying the number and suggesting he would’ve signed it if he was in those shoes… yeah, f*** you Boston.
What if Swayman becomes someone like Patrick Roy who would refuse playing for that club and requests a trade. What if Swayman feels that he can win multiple of cups in Colorado and requests a trade to Colorado. That kind of reminds me Roy trade, wishful thinking.

What if Swayman asks to be traded to certain teams and not wanting to re-sign with Boston because Boston has not been giving him the money that he deserved. What if Swayie says that "hey, I want to come play for the Colorado Avalanche" , what do you do then in that situation. Do you give a little less in a trade for Swayman because he prefers to come play with Makar and Girard in Colorado?

Lol that was such a dumb statement from Neely, you can't lose your cool like that in public. You should never discuss private negotiations publicly. Can't envision this ending well for Boston at this point.

Swayman is better than Ullmark… by a good amount. Which is why Boston chose who they did.

maybe avs can give them

george
colton or girard
1st round pick
prospect

**this is a scenario where colton waives his NMC and Colorado is on a list of teams that he prefers to go to. I think there's no NMC of any sort on swayman though so he can be traded anywhere. However a possibility is that Boston's trade leverage is low because teams know swayman wants out

Paul and Teemu! ;) but that didn’t work out too well.
JMFJ the second time around. Dude couldn't even wait until puck drop of the first game with his new team before he started taking pictures with our guys out on the ice, smiling, just like old times.

Hes much younger than ullmark, thats why the Bruins chose Swayman.
He’s better… the difference was very clear last season.

He's not arguably the best goalie in the league.
He’s definitely up there. Only thing holding him back has been number of games and that is due to platooning. Just be patient, you’ll see he’s in that same realm as Shesty and Vasi.

Where would we even get the cap space to afford him if he did come here?
Georgiev+Nuke+Pick

We get rid of a little maniac in net, a big maniac off the ice with serious problems which i doubt he will overcome....

And we get our long-terms-solution in net

I would do it in a heartbeat.... I doubt Boston would... And there lies the problem.

Maybe if we send them our 1st rounder too.. For Swayman and a cost-controlled player.......
