Why is no one here talking about Rasmus Andersson? Apparently he's open to being traded and available for a 1st+prospect+ a lesser piece.

His $4.55m caphit is manageable especially with retention, and you know CMac loves to target guys who aren't rentals, which fits since Andersson has one more year after this one. This front office also clearly like to have 5 good Dmen on the blue line judging by the Walker trade to replace Byram last year, so you know they'll want to add a good Damn to the mix.

Yeah the cap would have to be managed in the off-season but imo you go all in with available capspace now, and then figure things out with the cap for next season in the off-season.

Malinski can also be dangled as an obvious part of the trade as a direct replacement for Calgary in the short term. So say something like 1st + Ritchie/Gulyayev + Malinski/B prospect.

Toews - Makar
Girard - Andersson
xxxx - Manson
I don't know that Andersson is necessarily open to a trade. He said he would prefer to remain in Calgary but understands if a trade happens, it happens. He even said in that interview he hates Edmonton and Vancouver lol, the guy doesn't want to move.

However, if you WERE to get Andersson you might as well f***ing bring Naz back with him.

Shut up, don't ruin the dream.
The best thing about this trade is that you slip OO in. At this point, if we could find a way to get any value in return, I'd be ecstatic. It'd harken back to JoJo (the first JoJo) in the Konowalchuk deal.

I feel there was some chatter about him last week as a trade target when he came out and said he hates the Oilers and Canucks and would prefer not to be traded there

Would be a good fit for our team, but might not be the most pressing hole to fill

CMac is always aggressive making moves when the team needs something badly, like changing both goalies within 10 days etc..If Mitts continues to struggle until the trade deadline, I’d expect CMac to do something about it. Can’t take the chance going into playoffs with struggling 2C. Not only Mitts is struggling to produce offense, but he’s been bad defensively as well, and he’s minus 15

Two things to consider here:

1- Renaud has a source inside the Avs org. He had it for many years, possibly someone from the Nordiques days. (Yes the same source that told him that the Avs were signing Coleman years ago, but that went into another direction at the last minute).

2- Lavoie was in Denver last week with the Habs.

This is just posturing straight up. Trading Mikko in the middle of a contention season would be insane... Unless it's for EP I guess, but at this point that's still a pretty massive downgrade. But they didn't do it with Stastny in way less of a contention window, I don't see any mid season trade they can make that doesn't immediately make this team worse. Defin
