Surprised Florida still had to pay a premium price given Jones forced his way out. Not surprised Colorado never had a shot and are bridesmaids yet again.

Would Peeke push Manson to 3RD?
How about a Zacha+Peeke package for mitts+

Toews Makar
Girard Peeke
Lindgren Manson
Kylington (Malinski, unless he's part of the package)

Feels like a good day to get some trading done.

Got a funny feeling about NJ. They were already going after centers before Jack ate it last night. Mitts for Mercer + picks maybe?

Mercer makes too much sense, but Mitts might not be the best fit there salary-wise

My hunch is that we see a Colton-Mercer swap this summer when Colton's NMC gets modified. NJ is looking for a 3C and they've liked Colton since the Tampa days. They'll most likely try him at 3C again if they acquire him

Send Miles Wood to Chicago for Craig Smith for all I care, they want players with term and he has that in spades

Toews (28) - Makar (23)
Girard (23) - Manson (30)
Byram (20) - E.Johnson (33)
J.Johnson (35)

It's such a dilemma. We could get a great price for Mitts now based on how many teams need a center but at the same time it would probably destroy our season for good. (Not that Mitts any good but Drury can't be #2 center).

I guess you could then argue Mitts should have good value in the off-season too because lack of options.. so maybe our situation isn't as hopeless as you would think in terms of him.

Yeah, there's no way we re-sign him before seeing him in action. Especially after what the Rangers fans said. They say he is cooked physically. His play style hurt him.

5 years of retaining 2.5 million…. I’d argue most off what was given up was for retention. And the goalie has been pretty bad since the draft and all his off the ice stuff

So we will get Rantanen back for the playoff run?
No, I don’t know if serious but by the rules he’s not allowed to come back

I hear St. Louis is breathtaking... Detoilet as well. Don't forget about Buffalo....

I forgot Buffalo and St Louis. Those aren't better than Denver either.

Edit: Just saw your post @Bill Peckerskull Yeah Detroit too.

Detroit has cleaned up a ton in the last 8 years since I've been here (Specifically downtown). This just isn't true anymore.

Add in the OG6 history, the available surrounding rich areas, very new arena, Lake Life and no Denver doesn't have it beat. Not even close.

Doesn't come close to the lifestyle available in Seattle either with Salt Life, and Skiing all available within 45 minutes of eachother with pretty temperate climate rarely under 40 degrees or over 90. The rapid elevation change from sea level to high elevation as you go west allows for some crazy stuff all within a close proximity.

I've lived in or near all three cities, and Denver is "nice" but not that exciting by comparison.

It's interesting the perceptions people have.
