Florida haven’t appeared to be willing to pay Bennett long term. They’re short on draft picks and prospects. Does a Mittelstadt + a piece or two make some sense for Florida? Kinda like a toned down version of the Mikko trade but we’re the ones getting the rental?

There's some retention here right? Something that Calgary rarely does (they cheap)
I think that retention has probably always been the biggest issue with bringing back Kadri.

Now that the Avs have some clarity on the salary cap for the next 3 years, I think that this could be something they'd be willing to do.

They already know the player and know that it's going to be great fit - at least for the next 2 years. After that - well... we'll see.

No retention on either guy makes it a much easier trade to pull off. Andersson (if available) would be a huge GET and probably every contender in the league wants to add to their lineup.

We'll see what C-Mac has up his sleeve but the clock is ticking - 2 weeks left before the TDL.

I don’t expect anything to happen tbh
I think there will be some deals maybe not necessarily involving the Avs today.

I'm expecting a bunch of deals to be announced today - probably starting around noon.

We'll see if these GMs who have been sitting around for 10 days - actually got some work done.

To Col:
Kadri, C
Andersson, RD

To Cal:
Mittelstadt, C
Malinski, RD
2026 1st round pick
2025 2nd round pick

You have like five minutes until we show up with pitchforks if this doesn't happen.

Mmmmk?

If it DOESN'T happen it will only mean that these shithead GMs decided to go on vacation instead of actually working their completely stress-free jobs.

It takes two to tango.

Too many shit teams still believe they're in a hunt for a playoff spot.

In Calgary's situation, they are 3 points back of Vancouver for the final wild card spot. They are likely unwilling to sell right now, perhaps that changes over the next 2 weeks.

If they’re going to act like elected officials we should be able to vote them out.

Yeah, but Chicago has already circled the drain, so has Pittsburgh.

Just saying..

32T, Friedge spent a lot of time talking about Mikko being a rental. Chicago retained 50% of his cap hit, and if Carolina trades him again at 50% retention, someone is going to get him for just $2,3M. He said (obviously), multiple playoff teams will be lining up to get him at that number, as a pure rental.

He's gonna end up in Dallas or Vegas, isn't he.

It’s amusing and sometimes irritating when someone is obstinant because they think they have a point when they really don’t. He listed a bunch of names as though that’s a reason wouldn’t want another line in the water. Just look at Montreal. For a while they had a bunch of names as prospects (D prospects). Out of that there’s probably only two they feel good about at the moment.

It’s also weird how this board has this dynamic where it’s important to be as bold as possible in declaring what you’re willing to trade. It’s like some bizarre feat of strength.

Sorry for the mocking sarcasm. Have a nice day.
I so agree with the part in bold! Sometimes this board feels like if you're willing to trade one of our stars, it means you aren't biased and it makes you more right...

Sure but in Conroy's case, he's already said publicly a few times that the moves they are looking at are going to be - for the future.

So I understand that they are just outside the playoffs but it seems like he's being realistic about where his team is at.
