Rumor: 2024-2025 Trade Rumors and Free Agency Talk | Part Deux

So they told Crosby he won’t be going back to Pittsburgh?

"Hey Kyle, it's Nate and Cale, we have Sid on speaker. He's eating right now so it might sound like he's mumbling, but he's saying YES, he's sure he wants to waive his NMC for Colorado."

What would it actually take to get Parayko out of St Louis? He’d give the Avs the smooth skating shutdown defender that could really free up Makar to dominate. Guys also got a monster shot

St. Louis would take less from somebody else to get him out of the division.

He also has a full NTC and decides where he goes. I don’t see that being Colorado.

Foundation of deal feels there

Hawks retain $2-2.5M going forward (would seem like reasonable max for Hawks) and Stars can dump Dumba and his contract (Another year at $3.75M) in deal going back to Hawks

It's just a matter of what assets Hawks would get in deal to retain

Stars 2026 1st seems safe bet as ask from Hawks and then it comes down to what young prospect or player Hawks would have interest in that Stars would make available

Well that would suck.

So they get 2-2.5 retention PLUS they get to dump 3.75 of Dumba for this year and next year, for a 1st and some sides?

Edit: ah, I misunderstood. I thought Kyper was suggesting that package before I read the article.

When it comes to the big names, Avs always seem to be the bridesmaid instead of the bride. There's been plenty of times that's been good, but some others where it's a real shame we couldn't get it done (Panarin and Eichel come to mind)

In those situations, the players just didn’t want to come to Denver. They controlled their destinies and made it clear they wanted Broadway and Vegas.

This one sucks because Jones would probably waive for us, but he would also do that for Dallas and they will simply outbid us.

The Eichel one wasn’t him choosing Vegas from what I remember, it was the Avs not willing to commit to the cap hit. Eichel himself mentioned that he thought he would be headed to Denver

Meh, Panarin was always, always going to New York. Eichel would've been nice but I don't see what they could've put together to match what Buffalo got from Vegas.

Well Dallas getting jones would suck. I hope Cmac does something soon. For some reason I feel terrified that he’s waiting for nuke to get back before he decides on mits, which I feel would be a terrible decision.

At the same time, there have been no moves that the Avs have lost out on yet regarding Mitts.
So we can be upset that they haven’t made the moves yet, but also know that we haven’t missed out on any opportunities either.

I’m not necessarily upset. I get this stuff takes time and their trades so far have been good.

I fully expect them to grab someone no one thought was available. That seems to be the Avs MO

Avs need to take care of their own f***ing roster and the many deficiencies therein.
People here seem to worry waaaaaaaay too much about bottom pairing dmen. They are a dime a dozen and are super easy to find.

No...the elephant in the room is how they'll find a new 2C.

We might have to keep Mitts because there's no one else available and if that's the case it's first round exit territory. We can't have just one line that can provide offense and Mitts kills the 2nd line.
