Why do they do it?

Mikko & Necas was easy to make sense of at the time.

Between Lundell and Mittelstadt, you have good middle C options. If Bennett hasn’t signed by now...it puts the Panthers in a similar situation as Colorado with Rantanen. Necas doing well makes the Avs seem shrewd. Mittelstadt isn’t as good as Bennett. The plus is Ritchie.

Bo for Provorov? 😔

Seriously though, does CMac have any family in Columbus? Would make sense if he was in town during the break and is just visiting his old org.
When not sure how to proceed, trade for anyone from CBJ. Even former members of that organization will do.

I wish CMac had this kind of fetish for some other team, like one of those with good and exciting players, therefore not Columbus :-)

Lehky only played 45 games last year...same as this year so far.

I was surprised to see that he had one more point last year than this year. It's a career year for goals but his actual PPG is sustainable. It's been around 0.75 for the last 3 years including this one.

How Lehhky plays like LOC but in the top six just baffles me. No one has been able to keep the burners on. He played 24+ minutes each game in that back to back.

He's a fkn machine.

Nathan MacKinnon is far and away the best playmaker in the world right now.

Lehky is in the right spots at the right time and converts his chances, but MacK creates high danger chances almost every couple of shifts.

I don't really see any logical trade with CBJ outside of what Richard mentioned or some depth F. I'm a little worried it will be Severson - better steer clear of that. Mateychuk would be a welcome surprise ;)

CBJ has a ton of cap space that they can help retain on. I bet more than anything CMac is just catching up with some old friends

“Remember Seth Jones? I need you to retain a couple of million on him for 5 years, old pals.”

Maybe he is checking on Werenski :m-dance:
I mean, people here want Seth Jones, who has similar contract to Werenski....

Would the Preds trade us Sissons?

His numbers suck this year, but he has scored 20 in a season before. Plus, he always scores when against us when we play them.

The change in scenery might get him going.

If management didn't want to take Stastny back because of the way he left there's no way they are taking ROR back. Same with Barrie and probably Rants, too.

He was traded because of contract issues. They didn't trade him because they didn't want him anymore. He forced their hand, like Barrie and Rants.

They didn't want to pay him that much with Duchene and Staz. It was more of a mutual situation. I just don't see it the same way.

Of the three, I think he's the only one they'd ever entertain bringing back, but who knows.
