Zegras with the Avs would be extraordinary. Anaheim with their coach plays a game that does not suit his style of play, Colorado is exactly the opposite. I could see Anaheim wanting Ritchie + Mittelstad + choices for Zegras and Dumoulin.
LOL

You really want to extend the contention window? Solidifying the D. Get Jones ASAP.Washington gives me optimism that our teams window will always have chances to open back up way down the line. As long as we have Mackinnon and Makar. The Rantanen trade really opens flexibility for us.
Although I think Cmac wants to go "all in" this year, I always feel he's one of the gm that values stretching the contention window further out as far as he can. I'm hoping he continues to get guys with term or RFA status, to keep us as competitive as possible.
Do you know who Jared Bednar is? You actually believe that a guy like Zegras who plays an East-West, low effort, high IQ, peripherical game would thrive under him?Zegras with the Avs would be extraordinary. Anaheim with their coach plays a game that does not suit his style of play

He doesn't have great functionnal hockey IQ like Lehky but he plays a cerebral kind of game IMO.I really question that IQ.
There’s skill, but not sure about hockey IQ. Zegras does some of the dumbest, low percentage shit I’ve seen almost every game.
His goal is to be on the Plays of the Week.
There is truly minimal out there:
Anaheim: Zegras is a mystery box who is probably better on wing.
Boston: Nobody

Calgary: Playoff push
Carolina: Contenders
Chicago: Nobody
Columbus: Nobody
Dallas: Rivals
Detroit: Nobody
Edmonton: Rivals
Florida: Contenders
L.A: "Contenders"
Minnesota: Playoff push
Montreal: Nobody
Nashville: Mayyybbee Ryan O'Reilly?
New Jersey: Contenders
NYI: Brock Nelson
NYR: Playoff push
Ottawa: Playoff push
Philadelphia: Nobody
Pittsburgh: Lol Sid? Not happening
St. Louis: Rivals
San Jose: Nobody
Seattle: Yanni Gourde? Currently hurt
Tampa Bay: Playoff push
Toronto: Contenders
Utah: Nobody
Vancouver: Elias Pettersson?
Washington: Contenders
Winnipeg: Rivals
There is genuinely nobody available unless you acquire the similar-to-Mittelstadt in production Brock Nelson.
You are really too hard on yourself. You bring a lot to this board. For example I have learned from you that using a hooker is not cheating. That is the most important piece of information. Thank you. No really. Thank you very much.We really do need a capologist here. I tried my best to charm in and help with that debate, but I brought up hookers. Not much help I’m assuming
The regression looks like it's already in full swing with Zibanejad. It's nasty, but Mika Zibanejad could be an option.
The odds are against NYR making the playoffs, they already tried to trade him for Miller (earlier in the year), and he played RW yesterday because of the logjam created by Miller.
I think the only way Ryan O'Reilly ever returns to Colorado is if the Kroenkes sell the team and Joe Sakic leaves the organization entirely. What if we bring back Radar? Are the bridges burnt or can it be rebuilt?
I think he's still friends with Mack. I dunno.
How are we going to make that money work? How about looking for a way to get Zegras without giving up Mittelstadt. Just pure futures and whatever lesser contract(s) it takes to make the cap work with enough space to add a Dman as well.
Something like Zegras + Dumoulin (50%) for Ritchie + Wood/Colton + 1st + other picks.
Guy has 13 points this season and you see us adding to Mitts?Zegras with the Avs would be extraordinary. Anaheim with their coach plays a game that does not suit his style of play, Colorado is exactly the opposite. I could see Anaheim wanting Ritchie + Mittelstad + choices for Zegras and Dumoulin.
I really don't want anything to do with Zegras.
Complete bust of a pick. Dude isn't worth the $$ he currently makes, let alone Ritchie + Colton + a 1st. I wouldn't even trade Colton straight up for him.
Based on how Verbeek seems to operate, he won't trade Zegras for another 10 years when Zegras is in full decline and having his name in trade rumours his entire career.
There's $5.6m in space now which almost covers adding Zegras. Send down a forward and you've got his caphit covered. You'd need to find capspace for a Damn though, but if it's a rental with retention like Dumoulin ($1.35m if max retained) then you simply need to send one contract out (eg. Wood). How are we going to make that money work?
Colton still has a full NMC
Because theres no other 2C available...Why are we overpaying for Zegras?
