Since I don’t know any centres to talk about, I’m going back to Seth Jones for a thought. Does the 3 year cap projection perhaps increase the likelihood of Chicago retaining on Jones?

By the time they’re really going to be ready to start winning the cap is going to be above 120M. At that point that 3.5ish mil don’t hurt as bad.

IMO what might prevent Chicago from retaining on Jones is the retention slot limit.

Jones would be their 3rd retained salary and that limits what else they can do for this year.

Yeah I think Jones is ultimately a summer time trade but I do hope to be wrong on that as I think he'd fit what we need from 2RD so well.

I mean, I guess it depends on what you think they're going to get for that last retention slot.

If we're giving them a very legit offer like Ritchie + 2026 1st + Wood + another prospect/Sam2 for Jones at 7M.

Are they going to make out better by retaining on someone like Donato? I don't know.

Jones has been producing lately too. Maybe they think if he keeps it up they can move him with little to no retention too.

for 8 mill, I’d burn my own face…

Actually now that I thought about it, I probably wouldn’t. How the hell can you burn your own face on purpose. Impossible
Oh I’m sure it can be done but I don’t recommend it. You sure as hell ain’t getting $8 million for it unless it was like, Fear Factor or something.

And she’s suffered a ton since then. Skin grafts, surgeries, continual treatments, and the paramedics said she would’ve died had the fire not been put out as fast as it had been, I’m guessing some lung/throat damage took place. $8 million seems like the least she should get. And I have no idea if Ceci has paid her anything yet.

Obviously I was joking. I can only imagine what a horrible thing skin burn from fire is. That was also the downfall of Michael Jackson when his head caught fire. The surgeries and drugs afterwards pretty much killed him

You can find more by searching, all of the sudden there is a replay list when you search. Still wasn't there though.

Yeah I have to do that all the time. They disappear from the on demand section within 24 hours sometimes and I have to type out their name to search for the game.

But they also pull this crap where sometimes they just don't care enough to upload it at all.

I've done it too, but the key is to use the bottle like a squirt gun. Stand back and send a burst into the fire lol.

If some of the wood is a little wet sometimes it's enough to help get it going.
Only tangentially related, here’s fun story (long post warning, then again most of my posts are tl;dr). Also apologies if I told this tale already, I’ve been on here so long I don’t remember.

One time I went camping with my friend and his brother, and his brother’s friends. My buddy is a pretty easygoing, chill guy. But his brother and friends were the most raucous and violent bunch of drunks I’ve ever been around. They were all frat boys from Ft. Collins so it made sense.

One of them brought a gasoline can and built a HUGE campfire. And they used Aspen trees or something as the kindling and it set off soooo many embers into the air. I cannot believe we didn’t start a forest fire. Certainly would have under today’s conditions.

One night, I was hammered and didn’t notice (I’m a super-sound sleeper anyway) but my buddy said that night he was about to drift off when he saw a huge fireball go off outside our tent. Didn’t think anything of it since no one appeared to be hurt and went back to sleep.

Later that day one of the guys stumbled out of his tent looking like he had gone on a four-day bender (which this camping trip pretty much was). The left side of his shirt and flannel were completely burned through, and we opened up his sleeping bag, and the plastic lining was melted right where the burned part of his shirt would’ve been. So we figure he dumped the entire can on the fire, set off an explosion, set himself on fire but was so wasted he didn’t notice, and just crawled into his sleeping bag, still smoldering. He was lucky as f***, his skin in that area was slightly red but otherwise he was fine.

Needless to say, I never went on any sort of outing with those guys ever again.

So yeah…don’t ever, EVER use gasoline to start fires. Light amounts of starter fluid will get the job done if you know what you’re doing.

Yeah, fire and explosives are no joke. A lot of people don't realize what ignites with gasoline is the gas not the liquid initially.

There is truly minimal out there:

Anaheim: Zegras is a mystery box who is probably better on wing.
Boston: Nobody
Buffalo: Tage isn't available
Calgary: Playoff push
Carolina: Contenders
Chicago: Nobody
Columbus: Nobody
Dallas: Rivals
Detroit: Nobody
Edmonton: Rivals
Florida: Contenders
L.A: "Contenders"
Minnesota: Playoff push
Montreal: Nobody
Nashville: Mayyybbee Ryan O'Reilly?
New Jersey: Contenders
NYI: Brock Nelson
NYR: Playoff push
Ottawa: Playoff push
Philadelphia: Nobody
Pittsburgh: Lol Sid? Not happening
St. Louis: Rivals
San Jose: Nobody
Seattle: Yanni Gourde? Currently hurt
Tampa Bay: Playoff push
Toronto: Contenders
Utah: Nobody
Vancouver: Elias Pettersson?
Washington: Contenders
Winnipeg: Rivals

There is genuinely nobody available unless you acquire the similar-to-Mittelstadt in production Brock Nelson.

Yeah, focus on D right now and keep an eye on centers to see if someone unexpected shakes loose.

There isn't an obvious fit beyond Jones either that would push Manson down.

I'm totally willing to be all in on Jones especially since it's beneficial well beyond this season.

Pretty good assessment and a list except I disagree with one. We can get Kerfoot from Utah:sarcasm:
