I really like what they have been doing.1st for granlund is something. Grier seems to be doing better GM’ing.

We should upgrade on Mitts. We need a center and 2 d-men and I think we’ll be good
Nelson?I'm not seeing the upgrade that is available.
It's been disappointing for a couple of years now.The usual sick day I take for trade deadline day is going to be a waste, isn’t it

I still maintain he did a horrible job with Hertl and EK65 retention. But other than that, he's made some savvy moves. And in the end, getting rid of EK65 and Herth was important.I really like what they have been doing.
This unfortunatelyI'm not seeing the upgrade that is available.
Here's the plan :I’m starting to get really nervous that this will be the case.
Even if we get a strong defenseman and add a winger, Bednar is going to overplay the MacK line and then lean on KKOC + Drury and the Dummies if Mitts is still centering the second line.
You simply can’t get far without a 2C.
He did wonderful. Moving those contracts was tough in a league with no cap space and where players start declining at age 29.I still maintain he did a horrible job with Hertl and EK65 retention. The 2022 deadline was fun. Pining for Giroux only for him to blow us off. Then SakMac pull a rabbit out of the hat by landing Manson, Cogliano, and then Lehkonen in the last hour. Oh and making twitter bunnies cry about losing JostIt's been disappointing for a couple of years now.
I just think they are severely handicapped with all their retention slots used up. Well, they got a 1st for Granlund and Ceci regardless so...He did wonderful. Moving those contracts was tough in a league with no cap space and where players start declining at age 29.
Funny enough Malkin probably is one of the best available options out there right now for this team. I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see that happen. Here's the plan :
At the 4 Nations, MacKinnon 'let's it slip' very matter-of-factly to Crosby that his GM told him that he was going to make a big push to trade for Malkin before the trade deadline.
And then just let that sit there like a big giant motzaball between 2 shifts against Finland.
No argument about Ceci but watch Granlund scoring against us somehow even when scratched for the game. Because f***ing Dallas.I don't think anyone should be upset at this deal, in fact I think we should be happy.
Mikael Granlund, as good as he's been in San Jose, has been producing because he's been thrust back into offensive situations like he was in Minnesota. When he was playing with Nashville outside of one season he looked brutal, and his brief stint on Pittsburgh's 3rd line he looked brutal. If Dallas expects to play him on the 3rd line, they may not be getting great results.
Cody Ceci is who he is. One of the worst defensemen this league has seen in the last 25 years and somehow continues to find roles on teams - prominent roles, too.
I'm happy as an Avs fan today.
There's less cap accrual that way and more teams that haven't ruled out making the playoffs yet, so most likely you'd get considerably less trades with an earlier deadline. They should just move the trade deadline back a month. Do it on February 1st every year. Teams like to trade early for new players to have more time adjusting and getting used to their new teams.
I thought Malkin was pretty much toast.Funny enough Malkin probably is one of the best available options out there right now for this team. I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see that happen.
He’d be good for Nuke too.

Wait, what?????Always wonder what happened with the lawsuit that Ceci had to deal with years ago because his fiancée at the time set a woman’s face on fire.

I think Ritchie will be fine middle six center I’d bet. Landy and loc on the third line next year to start would be really good for him JMOI dunno I don't see much of a player in Ritchie myself. Zegras has potential the other guys are overpaid for what they bring.
