I really hope the Jones rumors aren't true. I'm just not a fan at all. Wildly overrated player.
But they gotta do SOMETHING about this defense. It's nowhere near good enough.
Name I've only heard a bit but what about someone like Morgan Frost? Not sure what it'd take to get him or how he'd fit ultimately but seems to be a fairly good young forward with good skating. He's had a decent year. Not sure how the board feels though.
I mean something must’ve fell through. You don’t scout a team for weeks just to retain salaryI really hope the Jones rumors aren't true. I'm just not a fan at all. Wildly overrated player.

His name has been mentioned for the last 2 seasons probably. I don't think anyone is super excited about him honestly.Name I've only heard a bit but what about someone like Morgan Frost? I think the Avs have put themselves in a spot that they have to take chances rather than go for the sure thing. The sure things cost peak prices. And the Avs simply don’t have the assets to fix the 2C, fix the depth, add the defensemen, etc.Earlier this week, I had a conversation with a non-Avalanche fan friend about Frost and also Tommy Novak with Nashville.
My $0.02 is/was this: Colorado used to hit on players like that all the time, and they just aren't anymore. Burakovsky, Grubauer, Nichushkin, Toews - heck, even Donskoi to a lesser extent - all redefined themselves in bigger roles. The mid-20s guys brought in since - Colton, Georgiev, Mittelstadt, Parssinen, Wood - have produced to the status quo, with only a few good stretches or maybe one good full season (Yr1 of George). What's left with is a roster full of guys who're miscast, playing a role one line too high for their ability.
If Colorado is going to rip off the band-aid and replace Mittelstadt, they need to go for the sure thing, IMO.
lmao Grubauer
Had a contract in front of him to stay in a place where he was a Vezina finalist.
Chased the money, watched his old team win the Stanley Cup, and is now on waivers.
You see, you say we have solid depth with MacK/Pettersson, but lack of depth was cited as the main reason why so many people here could not wait to see Mikko go. Thats why i am confused.
I've about had my fill of undersized centers with limited skating ability who aren't meeting expectations.Name I've only heard a bit but what about someone like Morgan Frost? Gru sucked. I was glad he walked.Saad was one of the best players in the series against Vegas. Grubauer (apart from game 1 and part of game 2) was one of the worst. Both are now on their way out of the NHL.

Necas is going to be in the zone, have given the puck away, gotten the puck back and re-entered the zone by the time Mitts enters the zone for the first time.If we can't upgrade at 2C and Mitts is the "guy" moving forward, we really need to split up Necas-MacK and put Marty on the second line. He's driven his own line before in Carolina and could likely do the same thing here.
JD/Lehky - MacK - Nuke
Lehky/JD - Mitts - Marty
Of course, this would mean Bednar distributes the ice-time between these two lines a lot closer.
We all know that at the slightest hiccup he will revert to Necas up with MacK. That's a problem.
Yeah, I was done with him after that series. Worst goal given up in franchise history and that's considering the Statue of Liberty gaffe in 2002 and Georgiev's garbage tenure.Gru sucked. I was glad he walked.

I was more commenting on how funny it'll be to watch the speed difference there. It could become a meme, like Jason Allison still working his way down the ice for his shootout attempt.Whatever, let him drag his ass and carry the invisible fridge on his back up ice.
Lehkonen is our best goal scorer right now, let him and Marty build some chemistry.
Nuke can be the shooter with MacK/JD and Lehky the shooter with Mitts/Marty.

With seeing the chemistry with Mack and Necas I think Bednar will try it at some point but he’ll just go back to Necas-Mack like he always did Mikko-Mack
Drouin - Mack - Nuke
Lehky - Mitts - Necas
I could certainly see that Top 6 working quite well if health wasnt in the equation. If you actually get Landy back at any point you then also get a 3rd line of
Landy - Drury - Colton?
And then the Kivi/Kelly/LOC 4th line.
Suffice to say Wood needs to be sent to the site of the moon landing.
