I'm kinda getting my hopes up about Val. It's probably false hope because of his ummm "unique" situation but he's better than PLD and Laine when he's actually on the ice. No question at all about his effort. Just a tiny question about actually getting him out there.

Sheesh see if SJ/Grier will take Nichushkin while they’re at it. He’s either completely inept or throwing bones to every other GM except ours.

I mean it's better than what they have had in few years and they got rid of a big mistake in PLD all in one go. Rob Blake masterclass frankly.
Kuemper has been bad the last two years… I mean LA getting out of that contract is huge. But they’re still stuck with a shitty goalie.

Remember that PLD can be bought out at 1/3rd of his contract. I didn't do the math but if Washington was thinking about buying out Kuemper then perhaps buying out PLD is cheaper.

They didn't just trade for Kuemper but they traded for "Kuemper on a very bad contract".
Sure, but it's a 3 year comitment instead of 7 with PLD, for less money, and Kuemper just has a 10 team NTC instead of a NMC
