I guess it is time to offer my predictions. This year is really tough.

Western Conference:
1> London
2> Saginaw
3> Erie
4> Flint
5> Windsor
6> Guelph
7> Sarnia
8> Kitchener
9> Owen Sound
10> Sault

Eastern Conference:
1> Brampton
2> Oshawa
3> Barrie
4> Brantford
5> Kingston
6> Sudbury
7> Ottawa
8> North Bay
9> Niagara
10> Peterborough

The only four picks I feel confident in are London, Erie, Oshawa, and Peterborough. The rest? Pft. I think I am close but close doesn’t count in this game! I wouldn’t be surprised if I got 4 points and was 1 place off for each of the rest of the teams for a total of ZERO extra points!

Eastern Conference:
1- Brampton - Have a big cupboard of picks to add multiple elite players to go with what they have.

2- Oshawa - Assuming the Barlow rumours are true, they will have 3 of the best 6or7Fs in the entire league + Danford & Oster.

3- Barrie - Actually really like this roster. Great top-6, defence is elite. Hilbrandt steady.

4- Brantford - Love their T9 Fs, but don't love D. Jiricek be a massive get.

5- Kingston - feel there's a big drop off here from 4 to 5, but KGN has some good pieces. Need good goaltending.

6- Sudbury - No clue what to make of the Wolves. If they sell they'll fly down the standings if not battle for 5th.

7- Niagara - lowkey don't hate the roster which I haven't been able to say about NIA in sometime.

8- Ottawa - don't love what I see but Cameron will have them playing structured & they r good in net.

9- North Bay - 3 deep runs in a row eventually catches up to you. think it does now.

10- Peterborough - some great young talent, but not enough veteran talent to keep them afloat. Playing OSH BRT KGN a ton won't help.

Winner - Barrie - They are built for playoff hockey. If they get the import D from NIA like reported there won't be a better top 4 in the league.

Western Conference:
1- London - Truthfully don't love the roster, but I think Cowan is back & they can roll out arguably 4 of the 10 best players in the league in Barkey, Cowan, Bonk, Dickinson.

2- Windsor - Not many in the west will be able to match their top-9 Fs. D remains iffy as does goaltending. Wouldn't shock me if this ends up making me look like an idiot.

3- Erie - Solid roster. No true weakness as long as the import goalie is steady in net. Good veteran talent.

4- Saginaw - Getting Epperson & Chernyshov (once he's back) was massive for them. Makes the Top6 lethal & gives them 3 good lines. Hate their Defence. I assume they try to patch work it.

5- Flint - Solid roster with not many weaknesses. Wont be very fun to play with Mania, Collins, Smith on D. Question where they get consistent production in big games.

6- Guelph - NGL, not a fan of this roster. I just don't see it past Luchanko & Gilleppsie. but maybe Allen, Namestnikov finally tap into the potential everyone thought they once had & they get some surprise breakouts.

7- Sarnia - wanted to put them ahead of GUE, but thought that might just be my bias since everyone else views them as a solid team. Promising but very young Fs. Like the defence. Goaltending will decide ultimately if they can push for 6th, or if they r battling for a playoff spot.

8- Kitchener - Love Romano, Lam & Reid but they lack F depth, D depth. Parsons should be huge for them. Question is how hard do they fall off post TDL.

9- Soo - went for it & took players who didn't report. Killer combo.

10- Owen Sound - simply don't have the Fs to keep up even with George.

Winner - London - *sigh*.... In a weak conference they'll just find a way. Cowan Barkey Dickinson Bonk won't come off the ice, they'll find a stable goalie & Dale/Mark will figure out the rest,

Finals-

London vs Barrie.

Barrie gets its revenge from 2013 & take it in 7. As I said they are built for playoff hockey. Wont be a better T4 D in the league. Beaudoin, Patterson, Hemming, Jelsma, York, Moses will be a strong T6 that I imagine they try to add to.

Look forward to being dead wrong & looking like an idiot. Best of luck to everyones teams!

Reminder predictions close WED at 7:00.

Again this year it's a tough call. Who sells, who buys? Windsor with a perfect preseason but be careful with that, goaltending still an issue?
Anyway here is my soon to be laughed at predictions.

West
London
Saginaw
Erie- better record but division placement puts them here
Windsor
Flint
Guelph
Kitchener- their roster is underrated.
Sarnia
Owen Sound
Soo- this is shaping up for a tough year.

The bottom 4 were hard to predict and even a team like Windsor may find themselves in the bottom half if they can't keep the puck out of the net.

East
Brampton
Oshawa
Barrie
Brandford
After the top 4 it is really hard to predict as team moves will impact how this plays out.
Kingston- as any other "go" year they will trade the bank to get 1 round in the playoffs.
Sudbury
Ottawa
Peterborough- they are going to play with heart and will outplay their experience
North bay- they are in restock mode.
Niagara- they just can’t help themselves and London will want their better players.

Final- Windsor/ Barrie and of course Windsor sends Barrie packing again. Lol.

I think Brampton and Saginaw will have successful years with teams that should help the draft eligibles, draw fans, and get two rounds of playoff gates if finishing as top 2 seeds.
I have Brantford and Sudbury in the middle, but trades could change the outlook for both a lot.
Barrie over Erie in the final.

Well, prediction time is here:

West:
London.
Saginaw
Erie
Flint
Guelph
Sarnia
Windsor
Kitchener
Soo
Owen Sound

East:
Brampton
Oshawa
Brantford
Barrie
Kingston
Sudbury
North Bay
Ottawa
Niagara
Peterboro

London / Brampton final. I think Brampton will add more pieces via their deeper draft cupboard and will push ahead of what London can or will do up to the deadline.

Based on that, they’ll have the upper hand post deadline. Brampton in 6.

Got to say I'm surprised by the lack of people picking Flint for the west division.

It was definitely a consideration! Saginaw has nothing for picks and my original thought was they would sell off this season to recoup assets but the thought was they would do it next year with Misa and Parekh.

Correct. 1 2nd, 2 3rds (counting the Lalonde pick), and 3 4ths. And I bet one of the experienced third liners (Sima, Moore, Gervais, Hay) are moved so maybe add another 3rd in there. Really need 2 defenseman with this ammo: Young D (Glavin, or Jones), 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4. Not impossible but they won't be high end names like a Gibson or Andonovski. They can address their needs but I feel Flint can address there's better. They can go out and get Luca Pinelli for their C need. Probably going to be the closest division race in the league. And we play a home and home to end the season. Could come down to a rivalry in game 68.

Seem like a work in progress; it would be hard to contend with a dozen 2007-08
I do expect Flint by playoff time to be a better team than Saginaw though.

Flint is still a tough place to attract talent, Burtucci case in point… Flint has to blow their load AND convince players to report…. To FLINT!

Saginaw is reputable and have a great program… they get to attract players that want to play there, a la Bloom.

It’s not as much about picks.

My 2024-2025 predictions
East:
1- Brampton
Top end goalie, good top 4 D, legit top 6 F and have the picks to add whoever they want.
2- Brantford
Top end goalie, legit top 6, don't like their D-core at all but like Brampton, have a million picks to add.
3- Oshawa
I think they're better than Brantford but Brantford has more picks and will have all their guys to start the season whereas the Gens won't have Ritchie, Danford, Sennecke or Roobroeck to start the season. That's a huge hole that could see them fall behind early and not be able to catch up in the standings.
4- Barrie
Legit goalie, best top 4 D in the league. They need Patterson and Beaudoin to be way better than last year.
5- Kingston
I can never understand the moves they make. Added final year guys in LaLonde, Uronen and Guindon so I guess they're going for it this year? They're not close to those top 4 teams right now in my opinion though.
6- North Bay
There's a clear divide between the top 5 and bottom 5 teams in the East. Bottom 5 will come down to who sells off the most/least but I think NB has the best team of those bottom 5 before they start selling guys off.
7- Ottawa
Will be an interesting team to follow as Pinelli, Foster, Mayich should all be traded at the deadline but do they have a good enough 1st half with those guys to get a playoff spot? If not I could see Niagara jumping them and OTT/SBY having to fight for a playoff spot.
8- Sudbury
Their goaltending wasn't good enough last year when they had a good team and they've done nothing to address that with a far weaker team this year. I assume they trade Musty but should have enough offence to steal some wins in the 1st half.
9- Niagara
I actually like Niagara's goalies and D-core. Their F's are very young but if they are able to find some success putting he puck in the net, this very well could be a playoff team as several of the teams I have listed ahead of them will likely sell off. The X factor of course being can their GM not actively make them worse in the season, again?
10- Peterborough
They could keep Sztuska as their 3rd OA and try to sneak into the 8th spot but their board seems convinced that he's about to be on his way out, and if that happens I don't see them as a playoff team. They have some good young pieces on F but have the worst D-core in the Eastern Conference.

I'll take a slightly educated stab...

East
Brampton
Oshawa
Barrie
Brantford
Sudbury
Kingston
North Bay
Niagara
Ottawa
Peterborough

 West
London
Saginaw
Erie
Flint
 Windsor
Guelph
Kitchener
Sarnia
SSM
Owen Sound

London is going to London again. I've accepted that reality. If Saginaw doesn't sell, then they'll sneak in through a pretty wide open west division. Windsor has much-improved offence but I still worry about the D/G. That could determine home ice v. not so much. A lot of it feels like a toss up in the conference, outside of the top few.

agree with those who suggest the bottom 5 teams in the west could go in any direction.
guelph should soft buy a good 06 if they can, they could be the best team on that side in a year.

north bay should bank points until they move their guys, mcciver is a very good goalie which will help them as well
