Jackson Dorrington, the guy you got in the Miller trade, is related to the first ever black NHL hockey player Willie O Ree. He’s also a really underrated prospect and has NHL projectable traits with his skating, size, physicality, and defensive IQ. Mancini replacement.

Dorrington is a sleeper prospect, don't write him off. One of the top TOI players in the entire NCAA and tough as a rock. I have a few shift-by-shift videos on him if people are interested. I'm pretty high on him compared to most Canucks fans and I hope he makes it to the NHL being related to O'Ree.

I wonder why the Canucks traded him. Seemed like overkill considering value-wise the Rangers got more even without him.

Probably just didn’t see any sort of succession plan for him considering we have a couple of LD prospects who are further ahead and have more potential.

Canucks have a lot of good “mid” prospects if that makes sense. Dorrington is someone to definitely track.
