Geez, Burrows is gone and the PP is still the pits…. Who are you going to blame now ?

Is it possible for a Right handed forward Prospect to make the team if he's undeniably going to make the 1st PP wave better?

I am asking for a friend

Why is Caufield on right half wall instead of his usual left?
yeah. with his 4 inch reach he looks about as dangerous as a snow globe to me when not specifically parked left wall. This pp looks like the definition of insanity, gotta mix it up man, these guys suck on the pp.

even left wall he gets pressed and smothered 3/4 times, he’s secondary scoring to me moving on. Get Laine and Hutson pp1 wtf.

The same people as last year: Matheson for being a poor man PP QB and Caufield for being useless unless he shoot.

Only reason he gets pressed and smothered is because there’s no movement by the guys around him. It’s all very static. It’s not dissimilar to when Weber was here and the plan was simply to feed him the puck and hope he scores.

IMO:
Suzuki bumper
Slaf down low/behind the net retrieval option
Laine left wall for one timers
Caufield right wall for wrist shots and passes down to Slaf for the quick touch to Suzuki
Hutson up top shaking and baking

Sure. Happens also on most entries where Suzuki carries over the blue and gives it to him. Something about him just invites a press and always works.

But for sure he’s not the only reason they are so bad at it.

My god what a problem to have. Hopefully the players are happy with their placement. Some guys will be on the second unit when they could be first unit guys on other teams.

When Demi arrives, Gally get dumped and Demi fits somewhere into the two PP lines. Roy is the huge sleeper sniper out there. Kid has a legit nose for the net.

this is an important year to see how good of a coach St-Louis is. He's accumulated experience and for the first time has options in the lineup. Let's see if he's capable of making hard decisions. So far, he's made the obvious decisions and the PP lineup makes no sense.

The genius idea was to take away Cole’s one-timer and Suzuki’s elite passing from the right. Very smart coaching. Would rather have Burrows back.
It's like they want Suzuki feeding Matheson's shot with Slaf screening.
I have no issues with Suzuki on that left wall as it insulates Matheson some but he absolutely has to have Slaf on the other side.
Suzuki scored far more goals with one timers than Cole did last season so maybe that is part of it.
Not having Slaf playing the right wall is just dumb and Cole should be a bumping marauder if anything with that group.

Getting extra pieces won't help much if you can't put them together properly.

It’s a good problem to have…last season barely had a first PP unit.

Season is long and shuffling is inevitable.

If they put Suzuki in a bumper spot I'm turning the game off.

MSL wants them to move around and swap place anyway.

They did pretty much none of that.. also your first set up should be your optimal set up and then move chess pieces after that.

Not wanting to upset veterans is a coaching mantra I just wish would die. Especially for a rebuilding team.

I agree but it just won't change.

Why is Caufield on right half wall instead of his usual left?

So goalies can sit in a rocking chair and know they can get set for any shot on goal.

It's stupid, I can't defend it.

Yeah these can be different in the next practice. They are testing things out

It's how they lined up in pre season, too. It seems to be their initial look and it's stupid.
