How many goals did Kreider score on the PP with the Rags and Adam Fox.
How many of them were the result of pucks simply being put on goal.
The Rangers one timers were all Zibanijad and from much further out than where Caufield sets up.
I'm not sure we have a player like Zibby who can onetime hard heat with a slapshot.
We have the best in the league in Laine.

Juraj also has a HSM

That 5 on 3 was grotesque. Just a bunch of guys standing still and waiting. I’m looking forward to watching a PP with Hutson and Demidov.

5 on 3s used to be near automatic goals for the Habs. Whether it was Markov to Souray, Markov to Streit or Markov to Subban. Yes Markov was the X factor but the forwards moved around to open the lanes for a one-timer. This isn’t happening.
Habs also don’t have a highly skilled & powerful half board player like Kovalev - IF Slaf can grow into that role the PP will be unstoppable w he, Hutson & Caufield

In 16 games we have 3 goals from our defense, two of which came from guys not currently in the lineup. I posted this in the pp thread because it is very relevant to this discussion. We do not have a dangerous shot option from the point on the pp. Yikes.

Correct me if Im wrong, but weren't the Habs one of the leading team for goals by dmen last year for a significant period of time?

Likely, the truth is that they can expect the defense to pot goals more regularly as we move forward.

Are our defenseman making a lot of shooting attempts though?

A rough estimate gave us 40-45 goals from the backend last season and yes, it was mentioned multiple times. @Le Barron de HF We don't seem to be getting shots through from the point like we did last year. We have 13 ppg's, all from forwards.

That's why i'm not convinced things would change all that much with Hutson...perhaps it would from a puck distribution perspective.

But the biggest problem will still be that the 1st wave only has 1 willing/capable shooter.

When Laine comes back, i'd like to see Laine play the left half wall spot, Cole play the bumper, Suzuki play the right wall spot, then you can have Hutson play the puck distributor at the top of the umbrella.

Matheson had 5 PP goals last season, but mostly in the 1st half of the season. Kovy had 1. That’s it, I believe.
