2024 2025 Playoff Tracker

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Hate those damn team we are fighting a playoff spot for against another team we are fighting a playoff spot for games.

Once again instead of hoping for this team to pull it's head outta it's ass and play consistently with the hopes of making the playoffs - I've started looking at teams to whom I'd rather see stir the pot and cause a potential 1st round upset.

A bunch of three point games. Jackets lose in OT, Islanders won in OT against Habs so yay. they got a point. Rangers lost in regulation at least.

I wonder if it'll be like last year and teams just never lock up the last wild card until 82.

So late night game Bruins lost.

So where are you at lads? Hoping we drop off some more for maybe a 7th overall?

i think we're still in it. every team we're fighting for a spot has flaws too. only reason nyi is in the conversation is because they've won 3 straight while everyone else has been losing. we're due to pop off a couple in a row and then who knows. it's gonna come down to the wire

Hopelessly optimistic until the bitter end. I would rather they miss by zero points again than miss by 10 points.
As Yogi once said "It ain't over until its over"...untiI see an "E" in the standing next to the Wings, it is not over, even with the Opera Fat Lady clearing her throat just off stage....

I'm so tired of this. "That's a must win" - we lose it. "Now we need a successful road trip, 3 wins in 3 games" - realistically speaking, we probably lose all 3.

And off to next season.. :ha:

Likely get smacked tomorrow night in Vegas. They're going to go with 0 points achieved this week. Playoff's ain't happening this season. 9 years in a row, but I'm told the rebuild is going swimmingly.

Not that it matters for the Wings, but Columbus loses again tonight. They are dying off just like the Wings.

They have only won once since the Stadium series. Serves them right.

Feel your pain for sure but:

Zadina pick set em back but IMO DRW has drafted as good as any team between 2019-2022. Will see what happens beyond that. Time will come soon.

1) not easy to make the playoffs these days with half the teams missing, esp in a shark tank division like atlantic

2) The is goal obv not a quick fix to land in the playoffs. although it is important to make it asap, its not the most important thing. goal is to build a team with a contention window for chance to win a championship.

Red Wings’ playoff push in jeopardy after key defenseman’s long-term injury

Who is writing those kind of nonsense

Our only hope was getting help from other teams, IF WE WON, but both are going against us. That said, we aren't that good of a team, and the teams we have left to play are all better than us, minus 1-2 of them.

How are we due? Utah and Boston are the only realistic win targets the Wings had for the last 15 games of the season. We already got a win against Vegas, which isn't really something to expect. Aside from 2 teams, the rest are all far superior to us. The only real hope for wins now, aside from the 2 I mentioned is those better teams resting players and not playing their best and overlooking Detroit.

because we aren't as bad as our recent record would suggest. do you think it's realistic to expect us to only win 4 of our final 24 games? since mclellan took over we've also beaten the best teams in the league, including washington, winnipeg, florida, tampa, edmonton, vegas. you cant just look at the schedule and say, 'these teams are better than us, we're definitely going to lose those games,' otherwise there'd be no reason to even play. (well, i guess you could say that but that would just make you a hater and a fake fan)

there are 31 teams in the league better than chicago and yet they've somehow managed to win 20 times. no team in history has ever gone 82-0 and no team has gone 0-82. playing the games matters

Of course the games matter. But if you are expecting us to win 10 of 13 against mostly the best teams in the league, which is what we need to do at least to make the playoffs, I think that is an unreasonable expectation. Our beginning record with Todd (15-5) is not how good we are, we are much worse than that. Talent wise we are about at .500 type team. We are a lower tier one line team with bad D and goaltending. We have virtually no secondary scoring and the D speaks for itself. Goaltending is all over the map.
