The NBA is a star driven league. The Mavs had one of the few that makes his team a contender just by being there.

I don't think this will change the Lakers fortunes this year, but it does for the next ten.

This is all about getting a team in Vegas, or rather, moving the Mavs to Vegas. Mavs are a successful franchise in Dallas. Can't convince the league to move them as-is, but what if you blew up the team? Make the fans revolt and boycott games, and suddenly you've got an argument for moving the team.

Of course the rumor has been Lebron as the face of a new expansion team in Vegas, but there was that recent announcement about his manager starting up a new international league. If his manager is doing that, wouldn't it make sense for Lebron to join him, which would mean not joining an NBA ownership group? And I know some have said FSG aren't involved in the purchase of the Celtics, but how much do we really believe that? They're selling a minority interest in the Pens for a reason, but they're just a sports holding company, so it has to be going towards some other purchase. The natural next purchase is an NBA team. And if a team is being moved to Vegas, then the expansion option there disappears.

Well Lebron has a no trade, and simply could decide to walk away at any point, so you are not getting much for him in any deal. Like maybe's he'd be willing to go to Phoenix if LA would Swallow Bradley Beal, and I'm not sure there.

Where could he go where he makes the team an immediate favorite? Maybe Houston, they seem a bit crazy. I don't think OKC is crazy enough to do it

The sad thing is we can only hope that money she’s saving from going under the luxury tax threshold is going into the gambling industry, in reality there’s a decent chance it’s going to go towards literally killing people!
