The shitshow rolls on in Vancouver.

Yeah dude, trade EP over Miller. That totally worked out the when you made this exact choice a couple seasons back instead with Miller over Bo Horvat.

Patrick Allvin alluded to this issue in his presser regarding Miller just after they announced he was taking a leave of absence;
First and foremost, I'm very proud of J.T. seeking help. I don't know if he said it, but I believe that he's going to be a better person, better teammate and better hockey player when he returns. Ad we sure miss him. He's such an impactful hockey player, and I think we have and league has all the right support to help him.
Maybe, just maybe he's an asshole? Miller himself admitted on a Chiclets appearance he was going as far to chirp Brock Boeser as well at points. Boeser has obviously had well documented struggles both with injury and having to overcome losing his father suddenly in the last couple years.

Miller has a full NMC, Pettersson for this season only does not. So he is moveable anywhere, while with Miller they would need his consent. So what do the Canucks do? Purely in terms of ability and performance Miller is their best forward. Pettersson is obviously very talented, Boeser isn't far behind, but Miller is a cut above and has the most consistency, experience, drive and all-round ability. He's clearly better than Horvat too. On the negative side, he's older. And if he's indeed too much of a hard-ass, jerk and problem in the locker room, is he worth it?

Supposing he's not, is he willing to be traded, and who to? If he's not, Vancouver have two choices. Accept that the rift is irreparable, trade Pettersson and at least get some decent value in return and hope the rest of the team can accept it, or sit JT and Elias and whoever else down and get them to sort out their differences like grown men.

I don't doubt that Miller is something of a problem because there's too much smoke coming from that fire, but equally he is a real competitor and if his problem with Pettersson is based around perceived laziness or similar there is also evidence to suggest he may well have a point. He may also not be the only one who thinks it. Either way, getting rid of him may be the most logical solution but it might not be so easy. Chances are they're stuck with it and giving up EP so easily would also be a harmful, short-sighted cop out. So they will probably try and just work through it and hope it all sorts out.

Chicago beat Montreal 4-2 tonight and former Bruins scored all 4 goals for Chicago - Bertuzzi ( #13 ), Foligno ( #9 and #10 ) and Maroon ( #3 ). And former Bruins also picked up 3 assists - Donato ( #12 ), Smith ( #6 ) and Hall ( #13 ). So that's 9 points in total tonight for the ex-Bruins now playing for Chicago. :amazed:
