Rags-Panthers was fun to watch

Rangers playing better but fell short. Wonder if they are slowly coming back to a more competitive product or if a major shake-up still needs to happen.

Kreider played well and only helped his trade value if that is the path the Rangers choose. One of a number of Blue shirts who would look good in a spoked B

I mean the Rangers have lost 8 of 9. You’re taking a 5-3 loss and somehow turning it positive and I’m not sure how. They're not slowly coming back towards anything.

Theyre third to last in the conference. Last in the Metro.

How much are the Bruins giving up for the soon to be 34 year old Kreider with two years remaining on his contract after this season?

I know he's had some good seasons, but he's been absolute hot garbage this year. In terms of production, he's sort of been an up and down player his whole career. A bona fide first liner one year before falling back the next. One of many Rangers in which the effort has been severely lacking this season. I would be very skeptical of adding that contract at its full value and would also be wary of anything near a first rounder going the other way to land it.

Given where this team is at, I'd look into more measured risks of younger players at lower cap hits. At this point, Kreider feels more like a piece to add-on to a contender competing for a Cup in the next year or two, which seems unlikely for the Bruins (as much as that hurts to admit given we are in the waning years of a legend like Marchand).

If you watched the game you would know they played a competitive game ...hence the I wonder IF they are slowly working themselves back OR if a major shake-up still needs to happen in addition to the two they have already done.

I am not a Rangers fan and am not wanting them to rebound- that said there is too much talent on that team from them to be counted out of the playoffs with half the season still to play

Panthers are the best in the biz at goalie interference. Every time a puck goes to the net it's like they're told they have to touch the cross bar before clearing out.

I, too, thought the Rangers looked good tonight, carrying the play for stretches.

The Panthers are pacing themselves, but do get up for certain games. Their broadcast said they are something like 10-1 against teams they've played in the playoffs.

They do go hard to the net, but the non-goalie interference goal on their second goal was right. And Bennett was pushed into Shesterkin by Lindgren.

Ex-Bruin Jesper Boqvist was the #1 star of the game, and the other former B's looked good - Greer, Nosek, and Vaakanainen now on the Rangers.

This is absolutely blowing up in Vancouver right now by the way.
Looks like Pettersson is available
Allvin went on blast basically, Not sure what you guys would offer, or how seriously you would be interested, He would obviously need a Haul.
But, just thought I would share and get your guys opinions!
Not everyday a 90+ Center with great Defensive abilities becomes available.

Thoughts?

Excepting 1994, when Neil Smith, Mike Keenan and Mark Messier led New York to their first Stanley Cup since 1940, the Rangers have been a losing organization.

Why?

Because they are the American answer to Canada's Maple Leafs, that's why.

Fighting for the entertainment dollar in the media capital of the world, crowded as it is with ferocious competition from multiple sports franchises, theater, restaurants, et.al., the modus operandi has always been to load up with marquee names in an attempt to buy a Cup.

Unsurprisingly, this approach has proven less than successful.

The only time in recent memory the Rangers seemed to be on the right track was when John Davidson and old friend Jeff Gorton were given the reigns.

They sought, with tangible success, to build a team the right way. The Rangers, it seemed, were poised for great things.

Unfortunately and predictably, the late James Dolan could not leave well enough alone, booting both to the curb amid player dissatisfaction, poor playoff results and, evidently, a less than enthusiastic endorsement of the owner's published statement eviscerating the NHL's Player Protection department after Tom Wilson ragdolled Artemi Panarin,

And so, alas and alack, yet again the Rangers are a mess,

How have they not fired Laviolette? Sweeney has his warts but there was little hesitation this year when the team was struggling as a whole.

I honestly cannot recall what kept Toews off the ice in the first place, physical, mental health? Either way, wishing the best for him

I wouldn't even know where to begin with the Bruins. I am sure there is a deal that could be made, but I don't see Sweeney unloading the amount of draft capital he would need to, not with the past few seasons of thin drafts and a relatively weak prospect pool. Plus, roster players would go, and would have to to fit EP under the cap to the tune of $10m or so. It seems like a far stretch for Boston to be in the mix for a trade here.

I like Pettersson, and he could probably use a change of scenery. The biggest issues with the Bruins looking to add a player of Pettersson's caliber is cap space and assets.

If the Bruins make a move for Pettersson, it is to add to this current roster, and like Dr Hook said, it will require the Bruins including roster players in the deal to fit Pettersson under the cap. It is extremely unlikely the Bruins move Pastrnak or McAvoy for Pettersson because they would want to add to the current core. An offer I could see is Poitras + Lysell + Carlo + Coyle + 1st etc., but the Bruins would need a RD coming back because the Bruins losing Carlo would take a huge hit to their RD depth as an organization.

Again, I think a lot of teams could beat that offer.

A lot.

I f***in love Pettersson.

I imagine other teams could outbid us easily, but there’s not a lot I wouldn’t give up to get Pettersson here.

Yeah, weird. Honestly I wish they'd stop having them.

Hawks already down 2-0 lol. Read today that they are 0-4 all time in the WC.

Plus their entry was lame. "Let's all wear Air Jordans"

90s outfits (although that was for Tahoe) and Peaky Bruins will never be topped.

At beginning of year I read comments that he has knee issues.
