Things in Nashville are lit right now. They weren't good to start with but things have taken an impressively shitty turn since the new year;
Stamkos: 0 points in last 10 games
Forsberg: 0 points in last 6 games
Nyqvist; 6 points since beginning of January, 0 this month
ROR: 5 goals since beginning of January
Marchessault: Probably the best of the bunch; 15 points since beginning of January, only 4 goals though.
Skjei: Point production isn't as big of a thing in his case but i've been told by Preds social media that this guy is now the worst contract in the league.
For those keeping score at home, that is essentially the Preds entire top 6 and what was supposed to be their second best defenseman behind Josi, who is injured after getting cheapshotted last night. All of whom Barry Trotz is responsible for bringing in minus Forsberg.
The Blue Jackets currently sitting in a playoff spot despite being nearly $20m under the cap, alongside their other difficulties, is making some other GMs and playing groups look pretty silly right now.
It was only a matter of time for Columbus. Even before Jarmo got shitcanned they were sitting on a stupidly deep pool of talented prospects and hitting on the couple signings they made. (Monahan in particular)
The crazy thing is they're not even anywhere near full potential yet either. They're still getting near league worst goaltending on top of guys like Fantilli still growing. This could be a really good team for a while to come if things keep progressing.
