Turns out you can make it to NHL with just 1 points in 58 QMJHL games

Damn, I have rarely seen a player with such little production, it makes Boucher look like an elite prospect

AHL Totals 234 4 3 7 1035 -27 0 0 0 4.9
QMJHL Totals 58 0 1 1 176 -2 0 0 0 0.0
ECHL Totals 45 0 1 1 110 -17 0 0 0 0.0
UHL Totals 27 1 0 1 109 -2 0 0 0 9.1
NHL Totals 26 0 1 1 105 -3 0 0 0 0.0
USHL Totals 4 0 0 0 20 0 0 0 0.0
NAHL Totals 2 0 1 1 15 0 0 0

12 pts total lol, even goalies get more points.

I believe he's been a healthy scratch in Junior this year

Look at Chandler Romeo, he was a very physical 6'6, 210 lb D taken in the 7th round by us in 2021. His 18 year old season he had 2g, 16a 18p and 100 PIMS. Eliasson hasn't looked much/any different than he did that season.

His skating is definitely good for his size, as is his physicility, but hasn't looked too hot.

At the same time, obviouslty 20+ years ago, Methot was only putting up 11 and 16 point seasons.

It's hard to make it when you're inept offensively at the CHL level. Your much more so the exception.
I’ve seen him a few times now. He is really starting to adjust to NA but he never looks for offence. I like his progression as he was very young and raw when drafted. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t add a little offence next season but I’d also be surprised if he hit 30 points.

Even if Eliasson was trending we're still talking about someone who is a 2029-30 roster hopeful, maybe even later. Yes he was a 2nd rounder but I wouldn't waste too much time on detailed assessments, especially with regards to point totals. This is a long term project and all you want to see is basic improvement at each level and then hope that the curve is still rising well into his AHL career.

Reminds me of Ben Roger, another guy taken quite a bit higher than expected. Roger being moved from a team competing midsseason is obvioulsly something that isn't happening here.

Had size and skating, taken very high because of the hope/projection he will develop the other areas of his game, and either way will have his skating and size to fall back on. Eliasson has the meanness and physical side that we obviously place a ton more value than the majority of the league.

Lacks skill and hockey sense

Will be interesting to see how he's able to develop over the next season. Would not be surprised if he's moved to open an import spot in the Summer, similar to this year when he was with Niagra, after the Ice Dogs picked up Lashko off waivers from the Q (even though they're only currently using 1 spot)
