we have a prospect pool of a team that made the playoffs for the last 10-15 years

And that is the end result of inexistant asset management for years, which was downplayed when we were complaining about it

If we're out of it by the deadline, I hope Staios trade those who have value among Perron, Amadio, Gregor, Cousins and Jensen

How could Hoyt Stanley ascend to top prospect status?

Good size, mobility and is a RHD. he has that going on for him but what else? SoA can you promote him a bit?
no . I don't have access to the article and I would not promote him beyond him having a pretty good D+1 Freshman year at Cornell that was a positive for me after being a 4th round pick. Put Burrowsaurus to work He posted it.

This is the only other recent write-off I can find :

Hoyt Stanley

Stanley just finished his first season with Cornell University. The 19-year-old defenseman appeared in 35 games this season with the Big Red, scoring two goals, eight assists, and a plus-16 rating. His Cornell squad captured an ECAC Tournament championship with a victory over St. Lawrence University (3-1). The Big Red then defeated the University of Maine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where Stanley recorded an assist. Stanley and Cornell fell to the eventual champions, the University of Denver, in overtime on March 30.

Drafted 108th overall by the Senators in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Stanley played parts of two seasons in the junior-level British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Victoria Grizzlies. During the 2022-23 campaign, he scored 38 points (four goals and 34 assists). The 6-foot-3, 201-pounder was ranked the 85th overall prospect in final NHL Central Scouting rankings leading up to the 2023 Draft.

It doesn't say much

lol I’m asking if anyone read the article so they can tell us what they said about him. Hoyt was great at rookie camp tho. Best player there BY FAR

His first game is on Friday against UND. Cornell had an exhibition game they won against Toronto the other day 6-2, but Hoyt didn't get any points (1 SoG and 1 Blk).

Ottawa has three prospects in the short term who could help this organization as soon as next season Yakemchuk RD top 4 defenceman, Ostapchuk C/LW bottom six forward & maybe Halliday C 4th line forward. These three prospects IMO have that "it factor" whereby they just seem to make positive things happen whenever they are on the ice.

They have another 4 guys who are longer term projects who all happen to be defencemen that could succeed either in Ottawa or elsewhere in Eliasson LD, Andonovski LD, Donovan LD & Stanley RD. I doubt any of these guys are going to be great pt producers, but they could turn out to be good solid defensive defencemen who can add some pts with the exception of maybe Donovan who has some solid offensive extincts.

There are some potential forwards although not so much in Belleville who could turn out, but given how young most of Ottawa's forwards are, they have time to build out their forward pool.

When Ostapchuk has played with the Senators he seems to have good instincts on the PK.
