If this guy is a diamond in the rough, it would be huge. 3rd pair RD in a couple of years?
There's some talk that he might be leaving to join London in the OHL.Montgomery scratched two games in a row while
Being ppg.
Attitude issues?
Interesting that an elite team wants himThere's some talk that he might be leaving to join London in the OHL.
I live in Brantford and have been to a bunch of games. Obrien stood out immediately as a rookie, last year. His vision and play making are spectacular. The vision alone is probably high caliber for the NHL.IMO there are two positions that the Sens need to improve in their prospect pool, goalie & RW. In the 2025 draft there are two players who could fill these two positions in the first rd. I'm not sure if we will have a shot at either, but they are both as of right now outside the top 10 & likely in the teens where I think the Sens could end up drafting. I assume they keep next yr's draft pick.
Joshua Ravensbergen G is a big 6'4" athletic goalie with the Prince George Cougars who has star potential. I don't think anyone is sure whether the goalie prospects we have now will rise up to be a #1 goaltender, but this guy has that potential.
Jake O'Brien C/RW who plays for Andlauer's Brandford Bulldogs & is a elite high end playmaker (think Giroux replacement). Only question is if he will still be on the board when the Sens pick. Justin Carbonneau RW is another right shot forward that should be around when the Sens draft if Montreal doesn't take him early who could be a potential future pt producer. Jakob IhsWozniak RW is another possibility who could go later in the st rd.

He's probably 2 to 3 yrs away from being in the NHL depending on his development & I expect he could put on more weight, do you know his size? He is listed differently depending on the site, but I expect by the time he makes it to the NHL he could be 6'1" or 2" & 180 to 190 lbs. Next time I'm in Cambridge I might check him out in Brandford. The question I have is strength. He is very slight and gets pushed around. Also not an explosive skater. Not bad, but he doesn't stand out in this regard. But his IQ/playmaking/vision package is very, very intriguing.
Cool.
It's official.
Beat UND twice on the weekend. Likely jump ahead
He can still go to NCAAThink it would have been nice for Montgomery to cook in the NCAA for 2/3 years. Big guy with a lot of development remaining.
Not sure heading to AHL next year is a great move, and an overage season in London isn’t ideal either, in my uneducated opinion.
yah me too.. nothing out there on it . I looked for news with any info. Knights had not announced it when I looked.Knights are absolutely loaded. Hopefully Montgomery can get some offensive opportunity.
His tools are very impressive but he seems to be a long-term project. As Bondra noted, NCAA seemed like the perfect fit for such a player.
Curious to know the reason for the change 10 games into the season.
I don't think so, but given that the value of scholarships and endorsements for likeness and images college kids can now get without losing their eligibility probably vastly exceed what a CHL kid can get from a $600 monthly stipend for living expenses, I fail to understand how they can justify the CHL as a pro league while the NCAA is amateur. Is there a ruling on that?
Completely forgot about that, thanksHe can still go to NCAA
It’s a rubber stamp at this point. Programs are currently recruiting CHL players. Is there a ruling on that?
Should become official soon from what I have been able to gather. Good to know its going that way. It’s a rubber stamp at this point. Programs are currently recruiting CHL players.
