It is absolutely concerning.

After the big 3 :

Giroux 0.65 PPG
Norris 0.58PPG
Gaudette 0.45 PPG
Pinto 0.40 PPG
Greig 0.33 PPG
Cousins 0.32 PPG
Amadio 0.30 PPG
Gregor 0.17 PPG
McEwen 0.14 PPG
Ostapchuk 0.10 PPG

Giroux and Perron are 37 y/o and Perron has barely played and has 0 point. Gaudette is 28 and has no scoring history outside of 2019-20. Our forwards had comfortably better PPGs last season, outside of the big-3

Once Giroux and Perron age out (which is happening RIGHT NOW), all we'll have is Stutzle, Batherson, Tkachuk, Norris, Pinto and Greig. No one else has proven they can provide good Top-9 offense.

We have a very little number of skilled prospects. It's fun and all to play tough but you still end up losing the game if you can't score goals. I'm hoping Staios can pull another rabbit out of his hat like he did with Ullmark.
OMG the drama & there you go again with the stats nobody cares about. The young guys (Pinto, Greig, Kleven, Ostapchuk & JBD) are going to get better. Norris is second in goals, Giroux & Perron are aging out, but they have a 1st rd pick this coming draft. Halliday & Yakemchuk will add more offence & it's most likely they will pick up a goal scorer in free agency this summer & next. You need to relax buddy, it's just a game.

Nobody cares about... offensive production? Tell that to player's agents

IF the GM managing my team doesn't care about everything I have said in that post, he should be FIRED ON THE SPOT. NHL GMs should always look to improve their team, 24/7. This is a very ferocious league with extremely high parity. Only fools with zero hockey knowledge think this is "drama" and not something a team has to keep close track on.

As of now, Ottawa has a whooping 86 goals in their last 34 games, which is 2.53 goals per game on average, the 5th worst in the NHL since November 1st.

But hey, Aragorn said this is drama and "stats nobody care about" :sarcasm:

oh and just heard that on RDS, do you know what is the team record when trailing after 2 periods? 0-14-0

But hey probably just another useless stat!

Pinto is 24 y/o and has 14 pts in 35 games (33 pts in 82 games since PPG is too complicated). That's 3rd line numbers. He started the season really slow but he should be able to provide 2nd line numbers in the future.

Greig is 22 y/o and has 13 pts in 40 games, which is a 26 pts pace (look, another fancy term!). He's young enough and can still progress offensively but I don't think he has much more than middle-six forward potential and I say this as one the posters who pushed for him the most on this board.

Ostapchuk... still young, should be a good grinder... but hard to see him bring much offense to the table... he has 3 pts in 36 NHL games, didn't produce much in the AHL too.

Regarding Halliday, I suggest you go read Ouroboros report on him. It doesn't mean that he's going to be 100% right but the points/facts he brings up (even if useless!) are pretty telling. It was telling for Sokolov and at some point it was obvious that he would never become a NHL player...

Kleven, JBD and Yakemchuk are... D-men, wtf do they have to do in this conversation? lol

Norris is paid 8 M$ per season and has 55 pts in 93 games including last season. We have no idea if we'll ever be able to count on him for true top-6 offense once again. If a forward paid like this produces such low numbers and you don't find that concerning, you're not in the right business...

So after Stutzle, Tkachuk and Batherson, considering Giroux and Perron age, Norris low production and Pinto/Greig not progressing offensively, you'd have to be really blind to not see a problem.

You need to relax buddy, it's just a game.

lol I am totally relax except when there's posters like you coming with stupid remarks like "useless stats" or "drama" when I am actually bringing real SUBSTANCE to the discussion and not just "wow I am drooooooling over the humongous size of this hockey player".

You can choose to just be a blind homer who think everything is perfect all you want but if there is posters who want to see their team improve to eventually WIN, you have to let them be.

Hopefully in a couple years we will have a few more prospects with upside. Most teams have some offensive black holes in the top 9. It’s a cap world and you can’t fill everything.

Yes they have only scored 86 goals but you didn’t mention only giving up 88. You also failed to point out that was 14 home games and 20 road games including 2 trips to the west coast.
