Abramov 1g, misses a penalty shot but then 18 seconds later scores his 2nd in a 2-1 win

I watched Gabriel Eliasson LD today against the 67s & it was a wild 2nd period. He likes to hit everyone & a lot of little guys take a lot of cheap shots against him & the refs let it go in the 1st period which ended with no score. In the second period the Colts scored first but once the 67s tied it up it broke out into a brawl all over the ice while people were throwing bears onto the ice started when Eliasson went after a 67 player. Barrie is a much bigger tougher team & & in first place in their Div & were constantly finishing their checks & hitting the 67s all over the ice.

The refs were letting them play & it just blew over after the 67s scored & there were several fights all over the ice with four 10 min misconducts. I liked what I saw from Eliasson who doesn't back down, towers over everyone, hits everything & plays a very sound defensive game. He is a good passer & a decent skater but is thin & needs to put on some muscle & develop a better shot on net but makes a lot of smart plays.

Cole Beaudoin C looked great today for Barrie, he has a non-stop motor, finishes every check & has a very good wrist shot that beat the goalie in the 2nd. Lucas Ellinas with the Kitchener Rangers is off to a good start as well, he has 14 goals & 6 assists in 29 games. 6th in scoring for the Rangers who have a very good team & are in 2nd place in their Div one pt behind London.

Carter Yakemchuk RD in 22 games so far this year has 10 goals & 16 assists more than a pt per game for a defenceman & is 3rd in scoring for the Hitman & 11th place for D in the WHL. If he was in the OHL he would be in 7th place for defencemen.

I count 4 and Davies is not a prospect, he's 28 y/o. Lassi Thomson is 11th though, but not a Sens prospect anymore

Yakemchuk is our best prospect by far and I have hopes for Wallenius, guy could easily be a Top-5 Sens prospect soon.

Wallenius is playing in a league where he’s the only drafted prospect in its entirety. There is really not much to see from him until he starts playing in a league that’s worth monitoring.

Yeah but liked him from the things I have read about him. Listen, we're choosing from very slim pickings lol

I guess he should graduate to Liiga soon

If he was playing in the CHL and putting up his numbers maybe. Otherwise its hard to measure him up at that level at this point

Really not much to be excited about that entire prospect pool other than Yakemchuk largely based on a fantastic training camp here.
We have a couple guys that may have a shot at a 4th line wing spot and some injury callup D.

The guys having modest success in the CHL and NCAA have some aspirations but its pretty thin

I like the profile as well, but can’t really say much about him when he’s playing in a league similar to the AJHL, definitely not going to be a top 5 type prospect playing there, at least any time soon.

Yeah but what is our Top-5 lol? Kleven and Ostapchuk are probably graduating this season. Sogaard is sinking, Crookshank is too old, etc

I'd like anyone to make a list of our current Top-10 or Top-15 (for fun, don't be shy)

Well I’d think all the guys taken before him in this years draft; Yak, Eliasson, Montgomery, Ellinas at the very least. Moore as well long term.

Andonovski, Stanley, Wallberg, Halliday, Donovan. Likely a few Kore guys similarly ranked.

After Yak they're all meh, to the point that I think Merilainen should rank ahead of all of them. (I know I know, ranking goalies is impossible, etc.)

Hilarious that there's only a single prospect on that list over a PPG at any level of hockey.

Our scouting staff needs to be put out to pasture so badly.
For years we could have our prospect porn to lean on while the main team was a disaster, and ow that has completely dried up, as well.

Rebuilding and not a top prospect to be seen other than our most recent 1st rounder (which was a 7th overall after our rebuild was done according to GMPD).

OK since no one has the BALLS to do it, I'll go! I assume that both Tyler Kleven and Zack Ostapchuk graduate this season. Angus Crookshank turned 25 y/o already.

1- Carter Yakemchuk
2- Leevi Merilainen
3- Cole Reinhardt
4- Stephen Halliday
5- Jan Jeník
6- Blake Montgomery
7- Gabriel Eliasson
8- Mads Søgaard
9- Matthew Andonovski
10- Luke Ellinas
11- Javon Moore
12- Hoyt Stanley
13- Tomas Hamara
14- Eerik Wallenius
15- Maxence Guenette
16- Donovan Sebrango
17- Xavier Bourgault
18- Oskar Pettersson
19- Theo Wallberg
20- Jorian Donovan
21- Philippe Daoust
22- Kevin Reidler
23- Jamieson Rees
24- Filip Nordberg
25- Owen Beckner

HM : Tyler Boucher, Vladimir Nikitin

One of the worst pools I have ever seen. And we were paranoing with the asset management!

Well yeah, that’s what happens when you trade two years of 1st and 2nd round picks for guys who don’t contribute to your team winning. Not to mention our scouting staff is all in on evaluating players like its 1966

Pierre Dorion treated our pool and draft capital like a maniac in a casino

We were so well positioned after that 2020 draft
