OT: 2024-2025 News Around The NHL Thread

I could be very wrong, but I don't like the Shesterkin contract for NYR. Shesterkin had a couple of insane seasons, and has regressed badly this season.

That said, the Ducks management should be pilloried for allowing the Rangers to escape from that awful Trouba contract. NY didn't even retain. Unreal.

Geno Smith was so bad that he was still the main culprit for the Sharks' losses even though he was playing in the AHL

Montembeault (another original Panther like Markstrom) is selected for Team Canada, and shares lead in most shutouts this season so far (3). Not bad for playing behind the Habs blue line.

Goes to show that people should let Knight develop. He’s got the ability and work ethic. He’ll be a #1 here or elsewhere but he’ll get there too.

Always liked Monty. Was a historically good goaltender in the QMJHL which is usually the highest-scoring league in the CHL. Not surprised it took him some time.

Just saw this.

No disrespect to Monty who has carved out a decent career, but I think this says more about the state of Canadian goaltending atm..

Magic beans for Henri Jokinarju?

Put him with fellow Finn Mikkola

🤷‍♂️
Spencer Knight(retention?) and a 2nd for Devon Levi and Henri Jokijarju

Call up Driedger and give Levi the entire season in the AHL. Bring him up next season to backup Bob and see if he’s worth it

I do like Knight and want him to pan out here but if they are looking for a change then sooner rather than later is probably the best bet
