And with a lot of these players, it's usually about:
- Being old
Landy is still kinda in his prime as far as hockey players go by age
- At the end of their contracts
Landy still has 4 more years left
- The injury makes it impossible for even try to make a comeback
Either pain, physical ability, or risk for quality of life outside of playing hockey. Once again, not applicable for Landy
- Their personal life situation made them walk away.
Datsuyk and Hossa for an example, when they wanted to return home. Once again, not really applicable for Landeskog, at least not for now.
Maybe one day, he gets tired about this and calls it quits. But I would argue it would have to be because one of the four reasons above (or if someone can name a fift one be my guest). At this point, only the latter two applicable. Neither seems likely.
