He's been out there in a non-contact jersey with the others. They said Val is skating so it can’t be too serious can it?
Bedsy is really committed to this bit.
We've officially gone from, "I haven't talked to the trainers" to "I don't have daily or weekly conversations on Gabe" even though he's their captain and he skates with them every day."![]()
You can’t listen to dater, save yourself the angst
As much as I agree, he is arguably the only person with legit sources inside the Avs who will go public with stuff like this. You can’t listen to dater, save yourself the angst
All the injured guys were on the ice last weekend. Everyone got excited that they could get them back this week. At the post-practice PC, Bednar said Girard was the closest, Nuke wasn't quite ready, would probably be next week, and Wood was further along than anticipated but still had a ways to go.What I'm curious about, is this about Bednar's comments from before, about him playing next week? Or has there been an additional setback and now he's not going to come back next week? Because we obviously know there's been a setback. It's been way longer than 10 days.

This should be pinned to the top of every topic in this forum.Dater is such a moron.
Apparently, sports reporting is a lot like driving in that almost any moron can do it. Most should not ...Dater is such a moron.
With the number of injured players we have and how seldom Bednar and the trainers are allowed to talk, I wouldn't expect Bedsy to be able to keep all the players individual timelines straight in his head. Especially since he's lying out of his ass about most of them. I honestly believe this is the one and only area where he actually enjoys talking with the media. He always seems to have a little grin while giving updates and to me that means he's just laughing at all of us while speaking. What I'm curious about, is this about Bednar's comments from before, about him playing next week? There was a time Dater was good at his job. Unfortunately, it was all pre-social media.Apparently, sports reporting is a lot like driving in that almost any moron can do it. Most should not ...
I am not saying your wrong, but I honestly can't remember a time when Dater was good. That's probably because I came to Colorado from Southern New Hampshire (back in 97) where we had the Boston sports media which is so damn good. They would get real facts, write great insights and call BS to all the pro sports teams when needed. There was a time Dater was good at his job. Unfortunately, it was all pre-social media.
Dater can write. He definitely needs a freaking editor because Blood Feud...jesus christ, when I gave my copy to my dad (a Redwings fan) to read, he kept cracking up because I actually took a red pen and made edits. I hate to immitate Moser but I CAN NOT BELIEVE that Dater's book made it to print in that form. Anyways, rant aside, before the internet made stats and even fancier stats immediatley available at a click, and as games became more accessible through Center Ice type packages and streaming the job of the beat writer changed completely and Adrian just didn't adjust well. I'm not sure how Dater is doing, but it seems like he has suffered a lot from back issues and pain and I believe possibly some mental health issues as well. I just couldn't imagine trying to go through all that and have a job where everything I do is public facing. That's got to be brutal on a person.
I wish him the absolute best in life, but I quit following the guy years ago, hoping that if more folks would do so, he might be able to let go of hockey beat writing and find something healthier and maybe a bit more lucrative.
