FTR I don't have anything to really base this on, but I'd argue the teams you see out there that appear to be the "healthiest" are likely the ones with medical staffers who don't hesitate to pump liberal amounts of Toradol into the players to prop them up for another beating.

I feel like, if anything, the Avs don't generally like doing this. I can't say that for certain as I have no evidence but it's a possibility.

From what I have been told, the Avs are one of the teams that encourages it more than most. Which is why we see so many guys return within games. Then when they are checked out later, they end up out for a while.

The Avs are probably the most cautious team on two things... concussions and blood clots. When a player is actually out with a concussion (not mid game which they allow too many returns), they give a lot of leeway and time on their return. With blood clots, they kinda have to be with the altitude.

This is the same for every team though, so that doesn't explain our injury record for the past 7-8 years. The Avs are constantly near the top, with perhaps the exception of the cup winning season.

Sure, like hitting black on roulette 10 times in a row

Something something bridge to sell you
I'm going to once again plug this site:

The CHIP, MGL, the net... whichever measurement you want to use, the Avs have a tendency to be near the top of the league. They average 65 more man games lost per year than the NHL average. Basically down one player from the average team each season. The last time they were better than average was 18/19. In the last 23 years, they have been less injured than average just 7 times. Only once, were they in the first quartile.

I think part is medical staff, part is style of play, and some of it is the types of players they target. They have never scoffed away from injury issues with targeting players. They are probably the team that cares the least about medical red flags... arguably, they target players with them as they feel they can get excess value from it. Ritchie, Barron, Kaut, and even guys like MacKinnon had injury/medical questions in their draft years.

Yeah my post was misleading. I should have said 5 of our 8 starting Wingers AND our 3C. Wood is the other W.
Lol I didn't realize Wood was hurt too. And to be fair Colton has been playing wing basically all year. This has to be some kind of record.

And it's crazy because somehow it still feels like we will win games just based on the big 3.

It's times like this where it would have been nice if Foudy, Olausson would have pulled there heads out of their asses, but they're dog shit.

Or if Ritchie would have stepped up and shown he was ready. But he's not.

Thank god so far it looks like we got actual NHLers in Kovalenko and Ivan.

Can we dress Georgiev as a forward? I mean, I don't see how he could possibly be worse than some of the dudes we'll be dressing especially in the few minutes these dudes will actually be getting.

Besides, we don't actually have an asshole on the team other than him...so whose going to run Vasi? That's our only true chance at a win.

Well....passes and shots would actually make it through...so I support this.
