Figured I'd link the announcement on Parayko.

I have to say, I don't think I've ever heard of a knee scope being announced 14 hours after watching the player get injured. It feels especially odd for a team in the middle of a playoff push to immediately jump to a (minor) surgical procedure with a 6 week recovery timeline before taking any time to let swelling go down to get clearer non-invasive imaging done.

The stated timeline takes us exactly to the end of the regular season. I can't help but wonder if that timeline (plus maybe the clarity of whether he'd be on LTIR) was a consideration for this quick announcement/plan. Or maybe he has been dealing with knee pain for a while without a clear diagnosis and made it worse Wednesday. Either way, I'm pretty surprised by this announcement.

Are you hinting that we may be Kucherov/Stone-ing Parayko? Put him on LTIR, go over cap, reactivate him if we make playoffs?

I'm not saying that is the most likely outcome or motivation for the quick turnaround for a scope, but the stated 6 week timeline has him being re-evaluated after our last game of the regular season but before playoffs begin.

I can't imagine we would be doing that to buy a rental if this wasn't a serious injury. He's way too important to commit to him sitting out games if he is ready before that timeline. But I do wonder whether one of the options was to wait 1-2 weeks to get a clear diagnosis on the severity of the injury and they chose a scope to find out pre-deadline whether he has a chance to return during playoffs.

You cannot get tinfoil off my head this time of the year and I wonder if he’s been battling something for awhile and this was one of the possible planned outcomes perhaps if it didn’t improve.

Gonna really make me wonder if we bring in a young defenseman.

I wouldn’t be shocked if we bring Luke Schenn in at this point.

He obviously doesn’t make up for Parayko, but I could see Army doing it to appease Brayden for his name being out in the media as much as it is. Would probably help with the room too, as I’m sure they’re devastated that Colt is missing the rest of the regular season.

Wow. Brutal news. I'm in shock. I saw him fall awkwardly near the end of OT, but I didn't think anything of it. That is such bad luck at a critical time.
