Wonder if it was that awkward fall at the end of OT?
Figured I'd link the announcement on Parayko.
I have to say, I don't think I've ever heard of a knee scope being announced 14 hours after watching the player get injured. It feels especially odd for a team in the middle of a playoff push to immediately jump to a (minor) surgical procedure with a 6 week recovery timeline before taking any time to let swelling go down to get clearer non-invasive imaging done.
The stated timeline takes us exactly to the end of the regular season. I can't help but wonder if that timeline (plus maybe the clarity of whether he'd be on LTIR) was a consideration for this quick announcement/plan. Or maybe he has been dealing with knee pain for a while without a clear diagnosis and made it worse Wednesday. Either way, I'm pretty surprised by this announcement.
I'm not saying that is the most likely outcome or motivation for the quick turnaround for a scope, but the stated 6 week timeline has him being re-evaluated after our last game of the regular season but before playoffs begin. Are you hinting that we may be Kucherov/Stone-ing Parayko? Put him on LTIR, go over cap, reactivate him if we make playoffs?
No, that punch came in a bit lowerOMG, just now found out about this...man what a gut punch

Gonna really make me wonder if we bring in a young defenseman.
I don't think that's it at all, but IF it were the point would be to take on bad salary under the cap in trade rather than buying to try and get to contender status. Sneaking into the playoffs would be cool and fun, but selling future assets to optimize the chances this year would be foolish. That cap space makes trades a lot more flexible, but not for getting a big piece we plan to build around. Are you hinting that we may be Kucherov/Stone-ing Parayko? Nothing to do with ego. His left bent under him on that play when he fell. See the pic in the post above from BadgersandBluesI didn't think a bruised ego would keep a player out for 6 weeks.
Such shitty luck. The team has been playing so well.
Our luck is so bad, it could be raining p***yes and we’d get hit by a dick
Exactly, you get it.Honestly, it's a good thing IMO. We were headed straight for no man's land territory again (no real shot in the playoffs, no top 10 pick). As much as people hated seeing Tank and ROR go, it brought Dvo our top prospect. Same could be with Schenn. We lose today but gain tomorrow. We don't need another prospect who is 3+ years away in that 13-20 range. We need someone who can potentially make the team or make waves around the league to where they're high trade bait. Imagine if we had another Dvo or a Nate Danielson, which isn't to say this class is as good as that one. But we wouldn't be banging down Carolina's door for Morrow or LA's for Clarke or NJ's for Nemec, they'd be banging down ours.
The horror… The horror….Our luck is so bad, it could be raining p***yes and we’d get hit by a dick
