Fun stat: Brandon Hagel is leading the entire league in ES Points/60

I wonder how much him not playing center and being a Bolt hurts his chances at the Selke. Last year he deserved some recognition and essentially got none of it.

Hot take, he’s a super star and is on that rung of elite players right outside the big 3.

Interesting we have better odds of making the playoffs than the teams ahead of us.

Also, where are the Sharks lmao.

We have the most goals for in the entire division (112) with at least two games in hand on everybody. We’re second in the division in goals against (82). The +30 goal differential puts us second in the East, third in the league. Our PP is third in the league, our PK is average at 16th.

We’re doing alright!

By GD, we're smoking the Atlantic right now. Florida and Toronto are each only +9. This should bode well for us moving forward.

But wait a second... i was told that we were doing so poorly that we needed to fire our head coach? Why was i lied to? Why have I been deceived? Are we actually doing well with John Cooper? Was that one guy wanting a nut busting head coach wrong after all?

Guys Habs fan here...quick question....It's trade time for my pool....and I have to choose amongst Hagel and Guentzel. Hagel is insane on ES...but Guentzel gets more points and pp time no? So...who would you choose for a pool between those 2 great players. Thanks.

Guentzel has started to find chemistry on the top line so if he can keep this up it would probably be Guentzel, also both are on PP1 currently but neither are really incorporated that much into how it runs but would still say Guentzel is more involved than Hagel currently. In a real game I would rather have Hagel but in Fantasy I would go Guentzel right now

If it's just straight scoring, Guentzel. He's probably going to finish with more points and more goals.

Hagel's been on a good hot stretch, but his linemates likely won't be as strong. I think Guentzel will eventually overtake him in points.

One thing on Hagel's side though, if I'm not mistaken he's actually 2nd in TOI among forwards right now, because he's being used on all situations.

He might suck as far as 2nd overall picks go but he’s a good third liner, which is one of our biggest needs. Though I doubt we have anything they would want to trade him for.
At this point I don't think he is going to get more than a 2nd rd pick

I don't hate the guy but if he wasn't a 2nd overall no one would care. Guys drafted top 5 often live live off their draft status longer than they deserve

Your're not wrong, but I see the opposite as true as well. A #2 overall pick isn't going to be available under normal circumstances. A change of scenery and different line mates could be exactly what he needs to turn over a new leaf and reach his potential.

Even if he doesn't turn into a star, I'm attracted to his floor, he'd be a fantastic middle 6 winger.

I see the potential but I feel like we already have better in Geekie. If we want to swing with NYR, blow everyone's minds with Kreider. But is probably as baked of an idea as I've ever had

Kreider is always the Ranger I want. I'd just love a guy with that kind of size crashing the net in the playoffs.

If Kakko shot right I think we would be intrigued. I still wouldn't be against it, but I can't imagine us making the best offer.

Not that I want to die on the hill for Nick Paul but I don't see how the move works without moving him for salary purposes- and to give the NYR something back. But that could be more trouble than it's worth considering how much better he has been this year. Nevertheless, Kreider and Jake on the same line is a terrifying thought

Paul's contract makes him borderline untouchable.

We should have some cap space at the TDL, if I'm not mistaken. I still don't see how we will have the assets to acquire top names, but you never know.

I doubt Kreider is a realistic target, but I think he would be a playoff scorer here if we could figure it out. I'm not holding this year in NY against him. For whatever reason that whole team just spontaneously combusted.

Kreider's contract is not possible to take in at any point unless we move Cernak and Atkinson/Sheary from a money stand point. Kreider has 2 more years at $6.5M as a 33 year old. Kreider just isn't possible.

If we are looking for a second line scoring winger, I would look at retained Taylor Hall.

Kreiders on the wrong side of the bell curve, especially considering his physical playstyle. I'd be interested as a cheap rental but he's got two more years on his deal.

Hall apparently is cooked, based off of some of the replies I've read on this site.
